Probably one of the most famous quotes I am known for in DnD
We were investigating a room when we discovered a darkness spell had been placed on the fireplace. Unsure of what was in it, they decided to send the Tiefling in to investigate. (They love me... honestly they do!) As I investigated the DM explained to me that I felt some horizontal metal pipe... I followed it around until I found a vertical pipe. Which I followed until I found another horizontal pipe. Which I followed till I found a vertical pipe.
Taking a deep breath, I went to carefully stab my sword into the center of this square and see if it was a hole leading in. It was at this point that my exasperated DM cried out "OH COME ON! IT'S A $@$@ LADDER MAC!"
Once laughter had resided I turned back to the party and calmly explained how I had found some strange pipe work in the back of the fireplace. I wasn't certain what it was for, but I thought it was strong enough to let us climb up it! It's fun to play the naive one from time to time!
