Oh hey! I got this out! And it hasn't even been that long!
Sharubi, you do not sass your sensei. Ah, you have a valid point anyway. Thom's not impressed...
Hey! Wanna know what they're arguing about?
It is not your job to go out and hunt meat.//You know I hate relying on the Hunters.//It is their job, not yours.//Father did not teach me to hunt and set snares for me to stay in this electric dome!//It is to keep you safe! You are only 19!//So what?! 19 is considered an adult.//Yes, 200 years ago, perhaps, but not now!//What does that matter?! I'm the oldest in my family line! There are rules there as well, Marson-Sensei.//Yes, there are, but as long as I say you are still a child you are not allowed to wander outside the electic field on a whim!//I care not for your "on a whim"! I saw a rabbit and thought it would be nice if me and Thom got to eat tonight!//The Hunters supply the food!//Sometimes they don't bring enough!//We have food in storage!//And when was the last time I was allowed in that shack?//You don't just TAKE the food! You ASK for some!//In exchange for something I do not have! You know how little me and Thom have!//We ALL have little!//And me and Thom are at the bottom! It's the caste system! You and I both know our village has it!//You have your farm harvest,//We SAVE it, not eat it all when we first pluck it from the Earth!//You can eat SOME.//We HAVE, and we have no meat! I went after that rabbit so we could have meat tonight!
EDIT: This series is on indefinite hold, maybe forever. While I love the story I have to tell here I don't think I have the ability to tell it with Hunger, since I want to tell that one more
It is 1000 years since present times, and things are quite different. Well, they are the same, really. There is one big difference though; instead of humans ruling the Earth, Humals now reign supreme. Where are the humans now? Living in the wilderness, hunted like deer. No sensible Humal tolerates those Primates.
But still, there are those who do not agree with society's norm, and are rather sick of it, sick of it to the point where they're willing to go to the extremes.
