Halflings are born when Humans and Angels fall in love.
This is often considered taboo as the offspring from this romance does not translate the way expected.
When humans and angels first romanced, it was assumed that if they had a child that it would be angelic. However due to the curse passed down to angels when they released the nightmare creatures, their children often take on animal like traits.
Nothing is predetermined, a mother of three Halflings may have children that share animal traits that share no correlation.
Such is their punishment.
Because of this, they are often ostracized by angels as being the rejects, or abandoned by their family.
Some demons will adopt these halflings as they often have pure souls.
Such is the case of Danja, Astrid and Dave.
Born of man and angel, they ended up on the doorstep of a demon who gave them a home and the care that they deserved
