SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 23, 2016 -- Tapas Media's watch-to-support program, is quickly shattering expectations in the independent comic industry.
After six months of development, Tapas, a publishing platform home to serialized, snackable stories for mobile audiences, debuted its much anticipated tipping program on Thursday. The free program allows comic book readers to watch third party video ads and voluntarily donate the earnings to comic artists of their choosing.
In less than 48 hours, over 300,000 coins have been tipped to over 80 comic creators on the mobile application.
"This is a game changer for the industry," explained Michael Son, Senior Editor. "In true democratic fashion, readers are now in the driver's seat. They can choose which independent digital comic series they most wish to succeed. Crowdfunding requires readers to open their wallets. We eliminated that barrier. Now all readers can have a voice, especially our under 18 demographic."

"One little dude with an extreme international mission . . . to bring Tapastic to the world."
Tapamon (Raymond T. Smith, reprising his role from "The Subscribers" and "Iron Hat" ) heads an elite team of fellow agents with the worldwide webcomic organization known as TAPAS (Tapastic Artist Promotion Ambassador Squad), as they investigate new ways to spread webcomics around the globe. Its members -- each of whom brings a specialty to the group -- work with Tapamon to promote Tapastic in extraordinary and inconceivable ways.
These are their stories. DUN DUN!
