Ye olde Grocery day went from being an average grocery quest to being the overload gauntlet just randomly. Y'know how I'm always on about "Know your limits" and "Where you're at" in terms of knowing when you might be going into a Sensory Overload? Well...sometimes S.O. just decides to do a random check in. Kinda like, when you're at work and the top brass wants to make sure nobody is being a stupid prick, so they don't tell you they're coming to visit, and instead randomly show up on the ONLY day you've ever worn pajamas to work. SURPRISE!
I had NO idea that this one was coming on. I had a coffee, I was getting some groceries and then suddenly it started up, like a fresh sunburn blazing a trail across my skin and it just happened so damned fast, I didn't have time to recognize it AND make a hasty retreat. So now, I'm stuck in a grocery store, all the noises are suddenly MUCH brighter, they feel like needles going in my pores, and no matter how quiet it is, I'm feeling every stupid click of a heel, squeaky basket wheel or crunch of a bag. All the negligible noises that normally feel like light patters on my shoulders are now stabby things.
Since I was lucky enough that I wasn't the guy driving (as more than one of us went into town for delicious foods), I rushed the groceries I had to the line (wonderfully short) and booked it into the car before any of my roommates had time to grab their stuff. Thankfully since the person whose car we used had a blanket in the back, I transformed into a blanket monster and treated the instance like a surprise hangover. Once I made it home, blanket monster accrued more blankets and took a very sudden nap. It's not the first time S.O. has snuck up on me like that, either. It's random, it's annoying, and when it's going on you just have to sleep it off like you would a fever or a headache that pills don't fix.
--Note: Updates Sporadically since my main focus is on my other Webcomic. However, I will add Synnie experiences as I recall them and experience them.--
This originally began as a blog in 2014 and I realized said blog had so many posts (many that I didn't make) that a lot of the artwork and stories I shared disappeared into it all. So, I'm going to post them here; consider it a slice of a strange life. These are taken from my experiences as a Synner myself. For anybody who was following my previous blog on Tumblr: Salutations!
