Gotta say, I love how the whole comic is based around chess. I absolutely love the game (though I'm rubbish at it), so this is pretty fun to read. And I love how you call 'em 'castles' instead of 'rooks'. Much better name for them, honestly.
That said, I definitely think you have some trouble delivering exposition. You're telling too much instead of showing. I'm pushing through it because, honestly, the world you're crafting is interesting enough that I wanna keep learning about it, but this is still not the ideal way to go about it.
Art is obviously top-tier stuff. Just delightful to look at, really.
