Chronos’ Study
Father and Uncle Aether continue to entertain us children with their various spells. Each of us grew more and more anxious to embark on our studies. I really cannot believe all of this is real! I mean there’s even a school specifically for teaching young mages!
Father claps his hands together and it catches all or our attention. He stands and takes a deep breath, “Alright children, it’s about that time. Let’s get packed before your mother capsizes from stress.” Father guides and helps and instructs each of us to pack their bags; Chronos watches us rush upstairs with joy in eyes.
Uncle Aether approaches Chronos, whose face grows from joy to worry, “What route are they supposed to be taking?”
Chronos sighs deeply, “The LeFey Forest...” Aether has a look of concern on his face.
“I hear that forest in particular is riddled with monsters and bandits,” Aether stated with a concerned tone; Chronos sits down on the first few steps of the staircase.
“Which is why I didn't want Twyla to go alone,” Chronos retorts. “She's capable, but the area is far more dangerous for one normal mage to handle, let alone while chaperoning five impressionable children.”
Aether exhales deeply, “Something is telling me that they'll be fine... I'm not sure why, but I feel like Myrlin will take care of them...”
Chronos looks up at his brother, putting him slightly at ease, “Let's hope you're right...”
Somewhere in the LeFey Forest
A group of Lizardmen is seen guiding slaves into an underground bunker. The Lizardmen are semi-human with prominent reptilian features, such as long scaly tails, horns protruding from the sides of their faces, and sharp needle-like teeth. Several of the Lizardmen gather and seem to be discussing something. There is one Lizardman that seems to be the leader and holds a map of the forest.
“Capturing elves and dwarves have been giving us some great clientele, but we need to start looking for more valuable products,” The leader of the lizardmen, Rango states with a malicious smile on his face. “There is an Asura village nearby these woods, and those kids are supposed to be extremely powerful...”
“So that's the next target? When do we rollout, Boss?” one of the lizardmen lieutenants asked hissing.
“At dawn, Naga gather all our men,” Rango responds while nodding his head.
“We're gonna snatch us some Asuras boys,” Naga screams; Rango stares off menacingly as the other Lizardmen cheer in excitement.
