The three of us toddlers stare at our mother wide-eyed and full of interest.
“Until the day her children's children will be able to stop her, she will continue her rampage across the cosmos...” she said as she pats Monspeed’s head.
Lilac sits with a stunned look on her face; she picks up the twins, who are both sound asleep.
“Lord Chronos is right about one thing, that story is definitely creepy...” Lilac states shivering.
This clearly upset Mother, “Agreeing with my husband will bring forth a rage comparable to the Dragoness...” she said gritting her teeth.
Lilac refrains from speaking further.; Twyla, then, erupts with laughter.
“Oh, c'mon Lilac, loosen up a little! You've been a wet nurse for at least two years now; you should be used to me by now!” She chuckles.
The two demonesses share the laugh, and their smiles bring me and my siblings joy. At least me and Monspeed, Minerva started to get fussy due to the laughter and loud noises.
The women try to contain their joy.
Time Stops
Before I knew it, everything in the room came to a standstill. The room looked like all the color had been washed away or removed. This is weird...
I get up from the floor and wave my hand in front of Lilac’s face. Is this a prank? What’s going on here?
I walk up to one of the aisles and catch a glimpse of the silhouette of a young man resembling Chronos except with a slimmer build and medium platinum colored curly hair.
After I blinked though, the young man vanished, and in his place laid a massive white dragon, with feathered wings that reflect all light, giving it a divine glow.
The dragon emitted a glorious aura, and although the dragon was of an enormous size, he had a gentleness in his eyes, as though there were a familial bond between us.
“Myr! Good to see you again!” The dragon yelled.
Is he talking to me? I point to myself to make sure I was the one being addressed.
I know it seems highly unlikely for a toddler to come face to face with a full-fledge dragon, but there’s something soothing about this creature...
“Yes, you; well, I guess you can technically consider this the first time we've met,” he huffs.
Yo! Is this a freaking Dragon!? Like the one from Mom's stories? Wait, why is he talking to me like he already knows me?!?!
The dragon sighs heavily, and slowly blink his eyes before chuckling. “Even as a baby, you were always a skeptic...” The dragon states.
What is he talking about? “Um... Do I know you?” I asked. I must have met this dragon before, how else would he know who I am. Hold on, did I just speak, like with an actual sentence? Something must be broken in this world.
“At the moment, you don't. But that will soon change my dear grandson...” The dragon nods his head and smiles. Woah, even though he’s a dragon, I’m pretty sure I just saw him smile!
My ears started to twitch, it’s kind of like a nervous tick.
“Did you say "Grandson"?” I asked.
The dragon nods its head and suddenly erupts in a monstrous laugh.
“That is correct, you are half dragon after all! It's only natural old man's old man is a dragon! Bahahaha! I am Lord Samael M. Wyltt!” The dragon exclaims. “Anyway, the task at hand, the reason we're here...”
“Woah, this is moving way too fast!” I say, trying to pump the brakes on this ride.
The dragon , rather, my grandfather huffs.
“You've awakened something, and I'm here to bestow a prophecy upon you...” Samael states with a more serious tone.
What did I awaken, and is he referring to that story again?
“Perhaps you're right, why me?” I ask, gulping on some spit. Gramps huffs again.
“Some things are yet to be explained, those are secrets you have to uncover” Gramps states.
“It seems you've awakened, my Legendary Signature: Total Stasis... It's a Time-based ability and allows you to completely stop the flow of time... It's quite unusual, every firstborn sage in our bloodline has had a unique Signature. You're the first to have one that has already existed and died at that...”
All I could was shrug my shoulders. “Unfortunately, I have no answer as to why this happened. I'm as clueless as you are. Do you think I'm special or something?”
Suddenly Gramps started to chuckle and fade away.
“It seems your time is up boy! You lasted longer than I thought you would! You'll come to understand that Time will always tell. You are more important than you know my boy! And don't be reckless,” as the Gramps finishes his final words and completely fades, the color begins to slowly fill the room.
Like a honeybee, I make way back to my initial spot.
I'm sure I must be in the same place that I was before I activate whatever it is this is, Static?
And just like that, I blinked again, and the world slowly begins to regain life. Pigments begin fill the room as my mother and Lilac’s laughter slowly picks up. My mom slowly moves her head in my direction and looks down at me.
“Myrlin, is there something on your mind?” She asked me. “No!”
With this newfound knowledge, I spring to my feet and clap my hands together.
Was that real? Did I just meet my grandfather, and he is really a dragon?! Enough of that, I guess I just got a call to action! I’m going to go write this down!!
Lilac tries to assist me out of the library, however, I let her know that I can do it myself, “Self,” I yelled.
And he said something about awakening his ability, what did he call it again? It'll come to me later, I'm sure of it, but basically, I can stop time! Like Dio from JoJo's!! Wait, JoJo’s? That was a show I used to watch... Or was it a story I read? Either way, this just got a whole lot cooler!
I hop on my bed and start giggling to myself.
But that message, "Time will always tell". That was eerie... What did it mean?
I smacked my face.
I can't think about that right now, I need to learn all that I can about this world and how to become a bad ass like my dear old Dad!
