Scene II – The Christmas Pedestrian Street
When I fell back asleep, I found myself walking around a corner blocked by construction. As I went around it, I entered a deserted pedestrian street, dimly lit by the night. Everything had a Christmas feel, and the predominant colors were white and beige. I walked along the left side, looking at the shop windows. The prices were in an unknown currency, but I used a device —perhaps a phone— to convert them first to another currency and then to dollars.
I passed by a window display with five black mannequins of different heights. One of them, the smallest, wore a black hooded robe, like the Grim Reaper. I kept walking, but something made me turn around: the five mannequins were now outside the store, lined up, staring at me. One of them started approaching. I pulled out a knife and threw it at its head, but it passed through harmlessly. It stopped very close to me and, without saying a word, turned to its right and entered a brightly lit door.
