She opened the door, revealing Jae-Yong hiding behind a massive bouquet of flowers.
His eyes widened as he took her in. He was left breathless and for the first time in his life he couldn’t find the words.
“Are you going to keep staring at me like that?” she asked, giving him a gentle nudge.
“Wow,” He finally mustered out, a slow grin spreading across his face.
He continued to stare in awe. Alexandra couldn’t help but blush at the intensity of his gaze. He looked at her like she was the most beautiful being to exist.
“You’re stunning,” he managed to get out.
Alexandra felt her cheeks heat up at the way he looked at her.
Is he going to blink?
She let out a soft unintentional laugh.
Jae looked dashing himself. She knew why the tabloids and fan girls always followed him around. If she had been a regular girl she might have followed him around as well. Maybe she would have even had him plastered all over her wall as a teenager.
He wore a black turtleneck that hugged his frame, peeking out from beneath a stylish maroon blazer. He coupled the turtleneck with a gleaming silver chain, its metallic sheen catching the light and drawing attention to his ensemble. The contrast between the dark fabric and the glistening chain accentuated his striking white hair. His outfit was the epitome of a K-idol.
He handed her the flowers with a playful bow. Not just any flowers. There were dozens of bouquets of roses that came pouring into the apartment, one after the other by the staff.
“Here’s to our date, you truly marvelous woman. May I escort you out?” he asked, offering his arm out to her.
She couldn’t help feeling giddy. She couldn’t remember the last time someone went all out for her and this time it felt genuine.
Matteo can take care of the flowers.
Her nerves started to get the best of her as she took his arm, stepping forward out of the apartment. Matteo cleared his throat from inside the penthouse.
Jae-Yong winked, “Sorry, Matteo. You’re not needed tonight.”
Matteo said nothing, and looked at Alexandra, waiting for a response.
“It’s fine Matteo, I will see you when I get home.”
She turned and made her way out of the penthouse. Turning back, Alexandra swore she sensed his disapproval or something different in his demeanor. She shook it off and followed Jae-Yong.
Jae pushed the roof button in the elevator. She realized they weren't heading to the ground floor rather, she was heading up to the roof.
The roof? What could be up there?
Jae-Yong led her to the private helipad.
“A helicopter?” Alexandra’s eyes widened. She hoped he could hear her over the echoes of the blades.
Jae-Yong grinned, as he reached a hand out to help her into the helicopter, “Trust me.”
As they lifted off, the view of Seoul stretched beneath them, an endless sea of lights. She was in awe as she stared out, taking in the view beneath her. She couldn’t help but think the lights shimmered like stars from above. She absorbed the breathtaking panorama below. It was truly a mesmerizing view.
“It’s beautiful,” Alexandra murmured, cheeks flushed with excitement.
Jae-Yong glanced at her, lips curling slightly, “It truly is a spectacular sight.” The way he said it made her heart skip a beat. The helicopter touched down in a private villa right on the outskirts of the city.
He noticed a loose strand of hair waving gently in the cool evening breeze. Without thinking, Jae leaned in closer, his movements careful. They seemed almost hesitant at first, as though he was afraid to disturb the beautiful moment between them.
Alexandra could feel the heat from his body drawing near. She held her breath, trying to quiet her heart pounding in her chest. Frozen, her eyes widened slightly, her mind racing yet unable to form a coherent thought.
Slowly, his hand rose, gentle fingertips grazing her cheek as he tucked the errant strand behind her ear. His scent carried in the wind.
Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly turned away. She directed her gaze toward the city below, praying that he didn’t see her now burning cheeks.
Am I having a heart attack?
Her pulse raced. She couldn’t tell if this was anxiety or excitement. She was confused by these new feelings. Something she hadn’t felt in years.
The helicopter finally landed at its destination, revealing a scene she hadn’t expected. Not from Jae.
