Night fell, Sonny and Theo left for the club, while Kenji stayed behind, wanting to ride with us. We decided a short ride up to the club and back would suffice.
“Wait, there’s 5 of us and only two know-?” Ken worried as we stood in the garage, gearing up.
“Oh, I know how to ride, too.” Leon stated plainly. “For safety reasons though, I cannot have any passengers.” he shrugged.
“Oh.” she hummed, nodding. “Hys, can I ride with you?” she asked softly.
“Of course.” I smiled. “I’ll have you put this on and a helmet, please.” I handed her my leather jacket.
“What about you?” she put the jacket on; I noted how over-sized it looked on her and smiled warmly. “Hys?”
“Huh-? I'll be fine. It's really just in case. Plus, it’s chilly.” I shrugged.
“Oh, well, thank you.” she grinned.
“Hm...” I dropped my gaze. Why am I thinking of her now...? Ken isn’t my sister- we're barely friends-!
“Hey?” she laid a hand on my shoulder. “You ok?” her warm gaze pained me.
“...Yeah.” I breathed out. “You remind me of someone I loved.” I hummed gently.
“Oh?” she blinked a few times. “Who?”
“My- sister.” I trailed a bit. “She had bright eyes like yours, and a comforting smile. She wore dressed a lot of the time.”
“Had?” she echoed.
“Ah... she...” I met her gaze. “She killed herself when I was a kid. I... can’t even remember her name.” I smiled slightly.
“...I’d be honoured to call you my brother, Hys.” she smiled warmly.
“Yeah.” I sighed happily.
“Ready?” Leon softly asked.
“Let’s go,” Kenji squeezed my shoulder before handing me my helmet.
“Hm.” I nodded, putting it on
I sat on the bike and started it, pausing as Ken hesitated. I held my hand out, steadying her as she swung her leg over the bike, sitting down. She put her hands on my shoulders tentatively, and I started out of the garage.
