“Bathroom, follow.” Bruno stated; he brought Kade into the bathroom, sitting him on the toilet. “I’m glad you're ok...” he pressed their foreheads together. “Don’t do that again...”
“I’m sorry.” Kade dropped his head into Bruno’s chest.
“Take your pants off.” I hummed, rummaging through the med kit.
“Leg first.” Bruno cooed as he took Kade’s prosthetic leg off, leaning it against the tub. “Lift a bit,” Kade used him to steady himself as Bruno helped take his pants off.
“Ok,” I knelt, tending to Kade’s bloody knees.
“I thought I could trust them...” Kade whimpered, leaning into Bruno.
“It’s not your fault.” Bruno soothed. “Those pieces of shit don’t deserve you anyways!”
“Just some nasty cuts.” I said carefully, bandaging them up. “You’ll be just fine.” I stood. “Monitor him for a concussion, if he throws up, faints, dizzy- take him to the hospital.” I nodded, going over to the sink, washing my hands. “Otherwise, rest and some painkillers.” I nodded.
“Thank you,” Bruno nodded, scooping Kade up in his arms, carrying him out of the bathroom.
“No problem.” I hummed to myself, grabbing his leg. “I’ll leave it here,” I placed it by a small table; a picture frame caught my eye; Kade, who was a little older than Cheste,r was standing with a young boy with black dyed hair and heavy make-up. “Pfft-” I shook my head. Did Chester really have an emo phase?
“Got the baby to bed~!” Bruno announced with a sigh. “Thank you so much.”
“Ah- it’s the least I could do!” I nervously laughed. “I hope he’ll feel better.”
“...Can I make you a cup of coffee?” he gestured to the kitchen.
“Ah...” I hesitated. “I’ll take water,” I nodded with a shallow smile.
I leaned stiffly on the countertop opposite the stove top, where Bruno was making his coffee; I stared at my clear glass, lost in thought.
“Hys-!?” I startled. “You ok?” he sipped his hot drink.
“Oh- yeah.” I nodded. “You?”
“...Better now that he’s home. How'd you find him?” he glanced around.
“He called me.” I stated. “...On your phone?”
“Oh- yeah. I’m always losing my phone. He usually keeps it in his bag.” he shrugged. “I’m surprised it was charged-” he weakly laughed. “...I’m guessing he didn’t tell you what happened-?”
“I don’t want to know.” I put my hand up. “I was able to help, that’s all that matters to me.” I shrugged.
