"Mph...” warm~! I pried my eyes open, blinking a few times. “...Hm?” I took a long breath before yawning; I nuzzled into what I thought was my pillow.
“Hm?” Vic’s deep hum startled me; a heavy hand fell to my head. “You ‘wake?”
“Mph.” I nodded into him.
“Good, ‘cause I’ve had to piss for the last hour! Get off-!” he struggled under me.
“What the fuck...?” I rolled onto my side to let him go; I sat up, rubbing my eyes. “Hmph-” I was startled, my phone rang loudly. “Who-?” I blinked at the name. “Bruno? It's 5 in the morning-”
“Ghost,” Kade was over the phone. “Can you pike me up- please- I-”
“Where are you? Are you safe?” I sprang out of bed, walking to get my clothes on.
“I’ll meet you outside Keys’ bar. I’ll explain later.” his voice shook.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be there as fast as I can.” I hung up, pulling jeans, a shirt, and my bike jacket on.
“Huh? Where are you off to? Vic groaned.
“Something came up.” I frowned. “I’ll be back soon.” I started towards my door. “...Take care of everyone.”
“I’ll come with-” he started.
“Sorry.” I paused.
“...Be safe.” he smiled as I turned to look at him. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” I hummed, walking out quickly.
No one else was awake when I walked into the garage, opening the door; I grabbed two helmets, putting mine on and starting my bike up, flinching as I remembered how early it was. Shit... I sighed, driving off. Kade and I had never been on good terms, but me dating his brother doesn’t change a thing. I saved him once before and I’d do it again, simply because I’m a protector.
As I pulled up to the Watering Hole, which was gated off and empty, I didn’t see Kade. I got worried and checked my phone. Seeing a text from Bruno’s number. I looked up, an alley was in front of me. I rolled into it quietly, meeting Kade.
“Thank you-!” he started to climb onto the bike.
“Wait-” I took my jacket off, draping it over his bare shoulders. “This too.” I handed him the second helmet.
“Why are you here?” tears streamed down his face as he put the helmet on.
