Few hours before…
Judas knew that he shouldn’t be doing this, already seeing the look of disappointment on his brother’s face when he realized that Judas wasn’t staying away from THAT life. Judas can’t help it. It’s not like he is wanting to do this but he just needs to let out the stress. He knows that his brother could quite easily end up grounding him for what might seem like forever, but Judas knew that he wouldn’t because he loves Judas and just wants him to be happy. But Judas wants to do nothing more than to cause a little bit of trouble.
And trouble is what he is good at.
While he was in class, he had overheard some students talking about the place outside of town where there are fighting rings and a place where you can make a lot of money if you’re good at it. Judas knows that Cory is struggling due to having to get a job and having to drop out of school to take care of his wild brother. If it wasn’t for him, Cory would be accomplishing so much more, Judas knew that.
But he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that Cory would never regret it. He just has to be careful to make sure that Cory never finds out what he is doing. Fighting is nothing to him, he can handle it quite easily, but he also knew that there was a chance that it could easily end up blowing up if he allowed it to. So he is having to take a step back and be extra careful before it easily ends up ruining everything.
This is what he needs to do.
Getting inside wasn’t the hard part since he is eighteen years old, although the bouncer didn’t look like he believed the ID, but it was more so how packed it was. People were fighting in the ring, blood being sprayed everywhere, and nobody was holding back. Judas knew this was going to be a lot more than he had expected it to be but another part of him was eager to do more. He wanted to get in that ring and prove himself to the world.
He can’t have a drink, but when he looks around, he notices a lot more. This seems to be much more than just an underground fighting ring and it seems like there are more dangerous things that could be faced. Judas can’t help but wonder what else is lurking behind these doors because he already knew that this probably has ties with the Mafia. He should have run away, kept his distance, or something, but it’s too late now.
He is already in the sights of a beast.
Someone that is ready to stake a claim.
Stepping towards the bar, he sits down and orders a glass of water. The bartender looks at him like he is crazy, but he must have quickly figured out that Judas is not twenty-one. It wouldn’t have mattered because Judas doesn’t like the taste of alcohol and he would prefer to be clear-headed.
“What are you doing in a place like this?” The man asks him, making Judas raise an eyebrow because he doesn’t know why it matters, “it seems to me like you should be at home studying, don’t you think?”
Judas knew it was a bit of an insult but he didn’t let it get to him because he knew this is just how it can be, “I’m right where I need to be. I would suggest you go back to mixing drinks.”
Judas can be cold when he wants to be and his tone was clipped, staring daggers at the bartenders and challenging him to continue. Something in Judas’ gaze makes the man look away and go back to what he was doing, not trusting a single thing that was about to happen. Judas just smirks, letting his gaze fall back to the ring, noticing how the next fight is happening. And the man in the ring was something else and staring right at him.
He is huge, that is the first thing that Judas noticed, towering in the ring. With his toned body, scars decorated on him like tattoos, and a tattoo on his hip letting down to his netherregions. And the tight shorts that he wore left nothing to the imagination, making Judas take another sip. His dark hair glinted slightly in the lights, tinged red, but it was something else that made Judas a little nervous. His eyes are a blood red, even Cory could see that from this distance but on the screen, it is more noticeable. And honestly, it looked quite real.
“That’s Lucifer.” The bartender murmurs, sighing wistfully, “he might be handsome as fuck but he is a monster. I wouldn’t get anywhere near him if I were you. He will tear you to shreds.”
Judas already knew this, but he wondered how anyone would be named that. It makes a little sense because Lucifer was God’s favorite, the most beautiful angel who fell from hell. He was tempted, the one that tempted Eve (or possibly Adam) to take a bite of the forbidden apple. And Judas knew that he would take a bite of this man and have no qualms in doing so.
“Don’t worry, I have no intentions of going anywhere near him.” Judas promises, licking his bottom lip as he finishes the rest of his drink, “I just want to get a closer look.”
Judas knew this could be wrong but he is making his way through the crowd to get closer to the ring. He feels like “Lucifer” is watching him, staring him down and watching his every move. This should terrify Judas but a part of him is exhilarated, enjoying the feeling of being watched. It’s a little scary because no one has ever looked at him like this before, but he has already decided that he is going to let this take its course no matter what way it leads him. Before he could reach the ring, it already began but truthfully, it didn’t last very long. The opponent went after Lucifer, taking a swing, but it would have been the worst thing that he did.
Lucifer ducks quite easily, as if his eyes weren’t just boring into Judas’ but paying attention to the person he is fighting. Lucifer tackles the other dude, slamming him into one of the posts hard enough to make the man cry out and wince in agony. But for that dude, it is over as Lucifer’s fists hit him in the gut and then squarely in the jaw, knocking him unconscious. Judas was horrified but mesmerized at the same time, unable to take his eyes off of the brutal scene. This wasn’t a fight.
This was a beatdown.
And a good one at that.
Judas thought that Lucifer was going to be led out of the area but he just easily slips under the ropes, his feet hitting the ground as everyone is audibly silent. What Judas doesn’t know is that Lucifer does NOT do this, always heading back to his room or to the Boss who has work for him to do. So when Lucifer is walking through the parting crowds, everyone moving aside quickly, all eyes turn to Judas who is tempted to flee because he has no idea what is about to happen. He has no clue what is about to happen to himself the minute that Lucifer gets his hands on him.
Lucifer moves closer until he is standing just a foot away, easily towering over Judas. Judas has to crane his neck to look up at Lucifer but he doesn’t dare take a step back, realizing that this could mean weakness. Do not back down when the beast turns to look at you. Judas knew this from experience and he would continue to do that because he is not weak. Jerking his chin up, he gazes into the eyes of a dangerous man who could quite easily rip him apart. Lucifer shows nothing, surprising Judas because he realizes those red eyes are definitely real but that doesn’t make sense. How could someone have blood-red eyes? That sounds scary enough.
“Name.” Lucifer grumbles, his voice deep, rumbling almost.
If that didn’t make Judas a little hard, he isn’t sure what would.
“Judas.” Is what Judas mumbles, feeling like he is about to walk into the shark tank.
Lucifer’s lips curve up ever so slightly, a glimmer of amusement briefly in his gaze, “I’m going to assume that your parents thought that you were going to be the little devil, didn’t they?”
Judas’ eyebrows furrow slightly, glancing around as he doesn’t understand where this is going, “what do you mean?”
“Judas is the one who betrayed Jesus who would end up being crucified.” Lucifer murmurs, tilting his head to the side, “my mom knew that I was going to be the devil the minute that she saw my eyes. She tried to kill me, a newborn, but I can’t say that I blame her. I think that she was right. I definitely did become the devil.”
Judas doesn’t know what to say but Lucifer is already shifting his body slightly, immediately making everyone wary of what is about to happen. As if on instinct, Lucifer reaches out and slips his hand into Judas’, making Judas flinch slightly as Lucifer’s hand is big and still stained in the blood of the man he had fought. Judas has no choice but to follow Lucifer as he is led through the crowds, ignoring everyone who is staring at them because now, it is like Judas is a spectacle. Never has Lucifer showed interest in anybody, that is quite a fact.
Judas is special, but he would have no idea how ‘special’ until it was much too late to run away. Being led up to the private quarters, he felt like he was being led right into the lion’s den, clearing his throat as he was thinking about what could happen the minute that he is alone with Lucifer. What does Lucifer want from him? What does he think he is going to accomplish? That is the biggest thing running through his head right now and it terrifies him a little bit. Slipping through the door, something screamed inside of him to run but it was too late.
In the blink of an eye, Lucifer had Judas on his knees, facing a man who was sitting in a chair, staring at him with blazing eyes. Although Lucifer was scary, this man screamed dangerously as his eyes assessed Judas. Judas wasn’t sure what to say, afraid to say anything with Lucifer’s hand on the back of his neck. But the man smirks and it immediately makes Judas realize that he is screwed.
“You’re going to help me get what I want.” The man murmurs, leaning back in his chair, “Luci, he’s going to be in your care. Make sure that he can’t get away but don’t kill him. I don’t want my new pet upset.”
Before Judas could say anything, he is knocked unconscious with a swift blow from Lucifer. Before his body crumbles, Lucifer easily lifts him up and uses the hidden door to get out of the Underground easily and undetected but not before tossing his Boss the phone that Judas had, already seeing the gleeful look on his face that Lucifer knew meant nothing but trouble. Lucifer doesn’t care, just wanting to get this job done and hopefully get this pretty boy out of his life quickly.
Lucifer doesn’t like weak people, and Judas already proved that he is naive.
