The sound of the protagonist’s footsteps echoed through the narrow corridors of the facility, as if the very walls were watching him in suffocating silence. Despite the cold metal surrounding him, his heartbeat quickened, resembling a rising flame in his chest. His heterochromatic eyes—one blue, one black—gleamed under the dim lighting, like mirrors reflecting two opposing worlds.
At that moment, a metallic voice resonated with a dry echo:
“The test has begun.”
He halted as a massive screen flickered into existence before him, displaying a chilling message:
"In this test, every step means life or death. The choice is yours."
A metal door creaked open in front of him, revealing a vast, dark room, partially illuminated by flickering red lights. There was no clear path—just an endless expanse of towering metal pillars stretching infinitely upward. Suddenly, a countdown timer appeared on the screen:
"30 minutes."
Stepping forward cautiously, he realized the ground beneath him was unstable. Everything felt like a test he was unprepared for. Another mechanical voice sliced through the silence:
“This test is not only to determine the strongest, but to uncover the depths of yourself. Be wary—your enemies are not always what you expect.”
At that moment, he heard a sound behind him. Spinning around quickly, he found nothing. He dismissed it as a hallucination, but then the sound returned—closer this time, clearer.
"You will not succeed."
His steps grew heavier, the cold steel beneath his feet amplifying the weight of the questions tearing through his mind:
Why am I here? Who put me in this situation?
As he moved through the darkness, the walls around him began to shift. Strange images flickered to life—faces he didn’t recognize yet felt oddly familiar. A woman smiling at him gently. A child holding his hands. A man standing in the distance, his expression unreadable, yet filled with undeniable anger. Each scene pierced deeper into his soul.
Suddenly, something stirred in the shadows. It was a creature, a being of pure darkness, moving with an intelligence far beyond mere instinct. Its crimson eyes gleamed ominously, watching him.
"What is that...?" he muttered, steadying himself.
Then, without warning, the creature lunged at him with blinding speed. He barely managed to dodge, but it didn’t relent. It seemed to be forcing him to move in a specific direction.
That’s when he understood—this wasn’t just a test of survival. It was a test to uncover the truth.
He had a choice: flee or fight. And in that moment, he felt something ignite within him. His eyes—blue and black—burned with an unfamiliar sensation. As if the power within him was awakening.
Planting his feet firmly, he declared aloud,
“If I’m here to discover myself, then I won’t run anymore.”
Grabbing a metal rod from the ground, he faced the creature, which seemed to smirk mockingly.
The attack came swiftly—the creature lunged again. But this time, with a perfect balance of anger and calm, the protagonist struck with all his might. The creature vanished into nothingness, and new words appeared on the screen:
"You have passed the first phase. Will you continue?"
He stared at the screen, his eyes glowing with a newfound determination. Placing a hand over his chest, he felt something pulsing fiercely—perhaps courage, or perhaps just the beginning of something deeper.
He hesitated for only a moment before realizing the only way was forward. Stepping toward the newly opened door before him, he braced himself—another world awaited.
