I woke up,i could hear distorted voices and noices,on my right side i could see kevin and others, and in the middle was rai.rai said"Let us fight, shall we?". i said"i just woke up!,how can i defeat a elite like you?".
Rai said"you never know when a enemy will approach you,so u should be prepared at all times no matter what."i couldn't back up as i will anyways get beaten up by these people.
The room fell silent as Rai stepped forward. She was short and muscular, with an air of confidence that made her intimidating. Her short brown hair shimmered under the dim light, and her piercing green eyes locked onto mine with a mischievous glint.
"You’re ready, huh?" she asked, smirking. "Let’s see if you’re worth all the trouble Kevin dragged us into." She cracked her knuckles, her stance fluid yet firm.
I swallowed hard, my legs trembling beneath me. I had no idea what I was doing, but there was no backing out now. I nodded, trying to mask my fear. "I’m ready," I repeated, though my voice shook.
The others stepped back, forming a loose circle around us. Kevin leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching intently. The doctor hovered nervously in the background, as though unsure if he should intervene.
"Here’s the deal," Rai said, her tone serious. "I’m not going to hurt you—much. This is just to test your instincts. Show me if you’re worth training. If you can’t even dodge my attacks, there’s no point wasting time on you."
Before I could respond, she lunged. Her movements were a blur, impossibly fast. I barely managed to sidestep her punch, stumbling back as my heart pounded in my chest.
"Not bad," she said, her grin widening. "But that was just a warm-up."
She came at me again, this time with a spinning kick aimed at my ribs. My body moved on its own, ducking just in time to avoid the blow. I felt a strange heat in my chest, a surge of energy I couldn’t explain. My vision sharpened, and everything seemed to slow down.
"What the—" Rai muttered, her eyes narrowing. "He’s tapping into it already."
"Into what?" I shouted, barely dodging another strike.
"Your mania aura," Kevin called from the sidelines, his voice filled with excitement. "You’re using it instinctively. Keep going!"
I didn’t have time to process his words. Rai was relentless, her attacks coming faster and harder. But somehow, I was keeping up. My movements were smoother, more precise. It was as if my body knew what to do before my mind did.
"Impressive," Rai said, stepping back to give me a moment to breathe. She looked almost... pleased. "You’ve got potential, kid. Raw, unrefined, but it’s there."
I collapsed to my knees, gasping for air. My entire body ached, but there was a strange satisfaction in knowing I hadn’t completely embarrassed myself.
Kevin approached, his expression a mix of curiosity and approval. "Looks like we were right about you," he said. "That surge you felt? That was your mania aura. It’s rare to see someone access it without training, but it proves you’ve got something special."
I looked up at him, still trying to catch my breath. "What now?" I asked.
"Now," Rai said, her tone firm, "we teach you how to control it. If you’re going to survive out there, you’ll need to master all three types of mania. And I’m going to make sure you do."
The room buzzed with a sense of purpose as the others nodded in agreement. For the first time since waking up, I felt a spark of hope. I didn’t know why I had this power or what it meant, but one thing was clear: my life would never be the same.
