The Laugh of the Human rings in sans’ ears and even before the tip of the Human’s weapon could even reach Papyrus who’s laying down on the floor, Sans rushed a Giant Skeleton to block its path. The skull was tough enough to deflect the weapon away from the Human’s hands. “ARGH!” As the weapon deflects, the Human gets pushed back away and sends the weapon flying as it disappears in thin air.
Sans catches his breath, and quickly teleports near his Brother that is under the giant skeleton. “PAPYRUS WAKE UP!” He continuously shakes his brother to wake him up, but not a single shake wakes him. Slashes can be heard from the top of the skull as the Human tries to break it. As Sans notices the cracks under the skull, he quickly carries his brother and teleports away from the scene. Ofcourse, the Human notices their presence moved so it stopped from attacking the skeleton, its biggest mistake.
As it stops attacking, gazes from left to right, she says “Come out come out…” Not being able to detect them from the dust fog that the Human created from attacking that skeleton, The Human quickly notices little movements. Its eyes gaze down, with the sudden rush of the huge skeleton head towards its direction, it was not able to deflect it with its weapon nor its bare hands thus squishing the Human towards the very ceiling. It crushed and created a large crater.
The Human passes out from the impact while the skull disappears as its body falls down. The fog Dissipates, and Sans can be seen near where the small opening of the Dome is located before. He continues to wake his brother up. But with little to no indications that he’ll wake up anytime soon, he instead hugged his brother.
“Please… be fine.” He then tries to mix a few healing potions knowing well that he doesn't know which materials or resources to use and ends up failing every time. A few explosions from left and right for mixing a lot of stuff, but it still fails to create one that his brother always does. “How will I be able to save you, when you always have my back…”
He hugs him tightly, by the time this happened, he heard rumbling of debris from the other side of the room and a few loud grunts, throwing large debris away from its path. “I’m SICK and TIRED of this.” The Human shouts “Why can’t you just DIE?” With its last shout, it sent shockwaves, clearing the area surrounding the Human. Debris flying from every direction, one large debris almost hit Sans and his brother but was able to block in just in time. However, he wasn’t able to notice a few debris rushing towards the tree, it completely sucked it.
He places his brother down neatly, in a sitting position where one of his arms is in his lap, resting there. He stood up, walked towards an area that can be easily spotted by the Human. He taunts it “HEY!”
The human quickly gazes towards the direction of the voice, and see’s Sans there standing “At last… Are you ready to finish what we started?” It turns its head and gives the creepiest smile “Or would you rather wait and let this Tree eat all of us? Time is ticking, Sans.”
It sends shivers down Sans’ spine “h-huh no pun intended?” He raises both of his shoulders.
“I almost forgot that you are one heck of a clown despite being bones and all” The human chuckles, summons its weapon, and walks slowly towards his location “Mind if I… come closer?” As the Human gets closer and closer, suddenly skipping and teleporting slowly near Sans and rushes, weapon front. Sans, almost unable to block it, got pushed back with the Huge Skeleton Head he just summoned in time.
Sans struggles “Is that all you got?” taunting the human as he pushes the skull, from the inside, deflecting the force the Human is giving from the opposite side. With enough force, he was able to push the Human completely, sending it a bit far away, breaking the skull completely revealing his location.
“Please that wasn’t even an inch of what I could do” The Human rushes towards him again. Sans raises a huge piece of bone strong enough to block the incoming attack. The Human clashes with him and for a good second, they both flew away from each other, stared at each, The Human was unbothered but sans squints his eyes, and as the Human rushes, sans does as well and at the center they both clashed their weapons again, tension and spark arises as they both force their way to push the other person or to break somebody’s weapon to deflect a huge hit.
They keep on exchanging clashes to the point that he notices the weapon he’s holding can no longer withstand the next attack so he has to thread carefully what he’ll be doing next or else he won’t be able to save both him and his brother.
“Looks like that’s becoming sturdy, why not I break it for you?” The Human from afar threatens him “Might I slice through you as well…”
Sans panics and couldn’t think of anything next to do, his energy is running out, he profusely sweats and his breathing becomes more faster and tiring, his plans requires a lot of energy and if he does use it as last resort it's either he’ll lose a piece of his life’s source or he’ll only pass out, it’s a gamble on life and death. But as he looks back to his brother, he doesn't think twice on if it’ll affect his life as the Tree is also Exposed and it’ll need the most protection where his brother does the same.
“Something bothering you, Sans?” The human taunts him again, making him act faster than giving him the time to act properly. “Maybe if you didn’t interrupt me and your little brother there earlier, none of this would have happened.”
“Guilt tripping? What a classic move.” Sans scoffs “Maybe it’s time that I bring the final blow to you.” He raises his head and his right eye glows yellow, it glows brighter than how it's supposed to be, raises his left hand and a giant skull summons behind him. It opens its jaws as wide as it can be and later a ball of light appears inside, getting larger and larger until sans lowers his hands and points it at the humans’ direction “Maybe this will do the trick?” Sans not sure if it will even budge the human, but he sure will be able to at least hurt it. Without thinking twice, he summoned a blue luminescent pack of bones around the Human, it pierced through but it didn’t affect the human “I’m pretty sure you know what those blue bones mean, right?”
“Oh no I’m scared!” sarcastically cries out of anguish as the Human tries to grab his attention “I’m going to die! Oh no!” The Human moved its hips and as Sans observes it, looks like the Human was unaffected by the blue bones.
“What? How?”
“That’s right” The Human walks slowly away from the bones “After jumping through multiple alternates, I was able to learn how to dodge these completely-”
Without thinking twice, Sans fired the large bean while the Human was busy with itself talking, he used the chance. The Beam shot faster than the Light and won’t be able to dodge it. Seeing as the Beam is still shooting for a few seconds now, The wall from the front it blew was getting pierced through almost seeing a piece of Waterfalls from the behind.
But he has to stop the attack. He felt a sudden shock in his heart, signaling that it uses a bit of his life’s source to keep the attack from disappearing. The Skull disappears slowly, and he kneeled down with its palms on the floor as well, coughing and catching his breath as he grasps his chest.
As he looks up, searches for the Human in its position, He thought he had delivered such a huge attack that’ll kill the Human. However as he looked back down to catch his breath again he felt something at his back.
His pupil shrinks as he realizes that tone of voice “If that was somebody else, they could have died.” He slowly looks at the side and realizes it's the Human “But that somebody isn’t the likes of me, and look! I’m still whole” The Human steps on his back and pierces him down the floor, Unable to even move, the Human releases its weapon “Finally, I’ll be able to finish one annoying skeleton off.”
His body lays down on the floor as the Human steps on his back, feeling defeated and unable to move, he still kept trying to budge but his attempts were neither successful or anywhere near that. He is tired, needs a rest, but has to choose to save between a tree, his brother, or himself.
“Are you ready to meet your demise, Sans?” The human, summoning its weapon, directs the tip where Sans’ core or his soul is placed. Hearing those words, Sans tries to stand up, but then again was so tired that he failed yet again.
He laid down, accepted the reality that he’ll be defeated, at least he was able to defend his brother for even just a few moments and as he knows, the Human will come for him next. He looked at his brother on the side, he smiled as he saw a circular light roll towards his point of view. As he was about to close his eyes, he grabbed onto it, wishing in his mind that he hoped to have been able to save everyone if he could just go back and warn them all.
As he closes his eyes, time slows down, as if he was given a chance to reminisce about what he will be leaving behind so his life flashes before his eyes. The tree that was once enclosed, is now sucking every matter in its area. The Anomaly, the Human that is wreaking havoc in their Alternate Reality. The Monsters dying at the Anomaly’s hands. And the never ending grief of not being able to protect his brother until his last breath.
“I’m so sorry, Papyrus…” He whispers in his mind and smiles.
As the tip of the weapon almost reaches his core, the Beacon in his hand lights up, as its light escapes in between his fingers. Before it could even pierce him, the beacon blows up, sending a shock wave throwing everyone who’s been hostile towards the one who’s holding the Beacon away. The shock wave even reaches out of their Reality massively spreading throughout all of their own universe.
And it suddenly stops mid-flight, as if it's frozen. It was silent. He could not hear a single thing, even a blow of air. He opens his eyes slowly to gaze around him whether the Anomaly decided to spare his life or went to his Brother Papyrus first instead. Either way, that did not matter to him.
With a few of his strength left, he uses his hands to lift his body up and looks around. As he does, he is stunned with the view before his eyes, his enemy floating mid-air, vulnerable, his brother laying down on the same spot but it seems that he’s becoming aware through observation, his brother’s eyes are a bit opened. He gazed back to the tree of time, and surprisingly it's not absorbing the area.
Without further thinking, he quickly ran towards his brother and carried him to a safer location; however, his first ever time-stop usage made him weaker considering his current stage, already worn out from fighting.
As soon as he steps a few more, the time slowly starts moving back to which he notices his brother’s reaction getting more and more noticeable, and it seems that the Human he’s been fighting is slowly floating down.
“Sans!” Papyrus’ voice slowly returns back to normal “Are you okay?!” While being carried by his brother, Papyrus held his brother’s cheekbones and checked up on him, knowing that the time he had spent knocked out protecting made him tear up. He hugs him for what he’d done for him. “I’m so sorry brother…” He continues to cry hugging.
“I-it's okay, bro. Calm down now, okay? I’ll take you somewhere safe” He still is holding Papyrus in both of his arms. “I’m here now, my brother. Don’t worry.”
Papyrus continued to cry in his arms, but as soon as he took another slow step, he felt a sudden strong beat from his soul that made him kneel down and accidentally dropped Papyrus “B-Brother!! Are you really fine?!” Papyrus quickly came closer and looked at him.
The strong beating continues to grow even stronger that he had to grab his shirt where his chest is located too strong that ripped it off. It hurts… In his mind, he keeps repeating What is happening to me… He can no longer hear his brother talking, but he can still see him clearly. After his soul beating, there comes his mind giving him the strongest headache. He held onto his head to support it, almost as it felt like splitting his skull open. He screams of pain every second that it beats stronger.
“BROTHER! SNAP OUT OF IT!!” Papyrus shakes his brother awake and makes him snap out, he doesn't know what to do but only one thing is to bring him to Alphys as soon as possible but he tried every strength he could release to lift his brother, however it's not letting him. “BROTHER!! SANS!!!”
A few more shakes he did, and Sans stopped midway where his head faces the ceiling with the most dead expression ever. Almost as if his soul was gone, however… his eyes were yet to open and as soon as he slowly opened, a golden infinity around his right eye appeared, looping endlessly. His right eye glows, just like a flood light shone too bright in only one direction and the surrounding suddenly becomes windy.
Through the other end of the light where it hits the ceiling, it projects different scenarios seemingly from the point of view of another person. It changes every second slowly for a bit and then as it progresses the projection keeps on switching too fast until the projection returns a glitchy view.
While they were having this situation, the Human who was sent flying away rose up from the debris, and saw what was happening. The human couldn’t help but to strike them down seemingly knowing the danger it holds even for him. As soon as he tries to strike Sans up, The Human froze mid-air, still conscious, not frozen in time, only captured by an unknown force.
“What tricks do you still have up your sleeves, imbecile?!” The human taunts him, but it wasn’t effective as Sans didn’t budge a single bit.
“B-brother, what is happening?!” He held onto his brother “p-please… stop it…”
Not knowing what was happening to the human, it would seem that two of the souls are being forced to get separated. “S-STOP!” The Human(?) begs not to be separated.
“STOP!!!” Papyrus shouted at his brother which made him snap, the projection stopped and getting the 2 souls separated got halted, however they quickly left the scene and retreated for now. His brother passes out on the spot. He catches him in his arms and hugs him.
As soon as the situation calmed down, Alphys and reinforcements came to the location only to see both of the skeleton brothers in the middle of the room. Alphys didn’t hesitate to run towards them and heals them on the spot.
