"WHAT?! Why?! Why did you hijack (YOUR) Dreadnought?" Dan blurted out, turning to Michal in disbelief. Michal began to tell the sad story: "It was about those Veronika's clones. As part of the gradual transformation of the Alliance of Planets into a broader Community of Planets, new strict laws were issued, and there was one unfortunate one among them that declared those people that Veronika created to be only biological robots. And since they were now just robots according to everyone, no one cared what happened to them. They could just slaughter them. When they wanted to get rid of one such group, I was there and intervened. The Dreadnought was, after all, almost my work; it wasn't difficult to take control, even with how many people were on it at that moment. From then on, I was labeled Veronika's successor, and they came after me. And no wonder, when someone steals a Dreadnought-class ship for themselves. That's understandable. What I just don't understand is that they refused to negotiate anything with me after that."
Dan was a little confused by such a flood of information, and it all sounded a bit absurd and unbelievable to him all of a sudden, but he hoped that when he got even more information, it would start to make sense and he would see it in a broader context. For now, he tried to listen to Michal as best he could so that he wouldn't miss any new information.
"So what now?" Michal asked.
"I'm holding on," Dan replied.
"Good. Tell me anytime if it gets worse again, that I should pause. You have every right to be in shock from all of this. Otherwise, I'll continue, okay?" Michal announced, speeding up a bit and heading the camouflaged ship west.
Suddenly, however, Michal stopped, turned to Dan, and asked him, "And what about your family?"
"Yeah, well... Mom still doesn't have anyone, and I see my dad about every six months. He might have found someone else after all."
"Oh, that's a shame. But... then again, I don't blame her. For not rushing into anything else. And... what about your grandfathers?"
"Grandpa Robert and Grandma are fine, but Jakub died a year ago. And-he probably didn't have any ring with nanobots, did he?"
"No, there is only one so far," Michal said and returned to piloting. However, his blue digital face drooped somewhat.
Then Dan began to inquire: "You probably won't want to show yourself to them."
"You saw what it did to you. No. They've already buried me; this is too crazy and complicated for them," Michal said, facing the front window.¨
