I walk back over to Rosie my black formal shoes tapping on the old wooden floorboards as I walk, I pull up my sleeves revealing my small black square tattoo, Rosies drunken smile fades and her face turns white as a ghost as she recognises the tattoo.
“Wait what did you say your name was again?” she says starting to struggle trying to escape the bonds.
“don’t worry doll, it’ll all be over soon” I grab the pillow smothering her mouth, she screams, clawing at my arms, gripping at the sheets, I see the fear in her eyes she stares at me. I hold the pillow there, her muffled screams resonating around the room, echoing in my head. Then it’s over her hand falls from my arm, limp. I reach over and check for a pulse. nothing. A cruel smile creeps onto my face, I laugh, a cruel harsh sound that wasn’t mine and hadn’t been mine for years. I watch as her lips slowly turn blue. Tears drip down my face into her mouth frozen forever in a eternal scream.
I regain my composure and start to clean the room erasing any trace of myself, carefully wiping away any of my fingerprints off her body and the room. I slip out of the room walking silently down the corridor and down the fire escape. A black car waits for me in a cold damp alley, a feral cat sprints out of a dumpster its eyes wide I take a step back then keep walking. I arrive at the car and one of the black tinted windows opens a crack.
“Is it done?” a croaky voice curls out of the car; I smile and nod digging my fingernails into my arm.
“Good, get in” the voice says again the back door of the car pops open I slide in. In the front of the car sits Horrible Hector, his bald head shining and his black waist coat looking like it’s about to burst as he leans back in his seat, the driver pulls out of the alley a old man who has been working for Hector for as long as I can remember. Hector hands me a wad of cash
“Good work boy” he smiles a crooked smile; I smile back and take the cash putting it in my bag.
“Pleasure, doing business with you Hector” I extend my hand, Hector looks at my outstretched hand before grabbing a pair of disposable gloves and takes my hand shaking it with a grip of steal
“Boy if I ever find out that you’ve betrayed me I’ll make sure the coppers never find your body” he smiles and I swallow hard and nod as the black car drives off into the night taking our secrets with it.
