Impressive. That was the only word I could use to describe the exchange of blows I was witnessing.
After Fernández's speech, we all scattered around the cruise ship.
Finally, I was able to have a quiet conversation with the two companions I had met in this place.
"Just out of curiosity, why do you both suddenly seem so calm with each other?"
Both Joan and David looked at me in surprise. It was Joan who took the initiative to answer.
"It's not as strange as you think, we've been friends for a long time."
"Thank goodness, I thought you were really angry at each other," I said, relieved.
"Don't get it wrong, of course we're angry," David said.
Joan continued,
"As I said, we've been friends for a long time. That's exactly why we know perfectly how to solve our problems. In the ring, like real men." I could see a fire in his eyes as he said that last phrase.
Without a second thought, both of them headed to the nearest training area.
Sighing, I had no choice but to follow them.
It was a good opportunity to get a better look at the cruise. It was way too big for just 50 people. But it made sense, most of the space had been occupied by numerous leisure and training areas to keep us busy during the trip.
Luckily, we found an area with few people, and the ring was free.
Without hesitation, both of them put on a pair of gloves and climbed into the ring.
From up there, they felt like different people. I really hadn’t paid much attention to their appearance until now.
Joan was about my age, maybe a little taller than me, around 1.80 meters. His hair was a reddish-brown shade that went well with his sharp eyes. He usually had an energetic look and a playful character. But once he stepped into the ring, that look completely changed. It wasn't me standing in front of him up there, but I could feel his pressure. He had the look of an animal.
And facing that animal, there was David, a shorter guy, about 1.70 meters. He was the complete opposite of Joan. His hair was a dark blue, almost black. Without his glasses, his blue eyes stood out much more. I also felt some kind of pressure from him, but it was different. His gaze was penetrating and calculating, as if I were being observed from every possible angle.
I was excited to see the fight between these two individuals. I wanted to know how strong they were. At that moment, the starting bell rang.
There was no referee, it was just sparring between friends.
"In today's era, due to corruption, boxing has been stripped of the prestige and honor it once had. As a result, 'The Box' is born. Our story follows the life of Lorenzo, a young boxer who, after not only losing a fight but also being unable to save his gym, decides to join 'The Box,' an ambitious project led by a retired boxer who, together with 350 young pugilists, will try to reinvent boxing and show the world what they are capable of".
