After a long journey, during which I slept for most of the time, all the chosen ones finally arrived at a huge port. There, we found a massive cruise ship waiting to take us to what would be our new life.

Once on the cruise, a staff member guided me to my room and told me to head to the deck with the others after I left my belongings.

The room wasn’t anything special, just a simple bed with barely enough space for one person and a personal bathroom. It was small compared to how expensive and enormous the cruise ship looked, but I didn’t expect a five-star room from the start.

Once I left my things, I headed to the deck where I recognized a familiar face waving his hands in my direction.

"Hey! Lorenzo, over here!" Joan shouted from where he was waiting with David. They seemed to have made up.

But before we could even start talking, our attention was drawn to a loud sound.

Everyone on the cruise went silent and stared intently at the image in front of them—Fernández on a large stage, with a giant red screen behind him displaying the words “The Box” in big letters.

Fernández, the man who had invited me to this place, seemed excited. Once he confirmed he had our attention, he began his speech, which could be heard throughout the cruise thanks to the speakers.

“Welcome everyone! Young boxers. As you already know, we are here gathered with a single goal. Together, we will write a new story in boxing, a story in which you will be the protagonists.”

These words were followed by a massive ovation from everyone on the cruise. My body trembled at such a reaction. Everyone seemed as excited as I was at the idea of “being the protagonists” in the creation of new boxing.

Once the noise subsided, Fernández, with a big smile, continued his speech.

“That’s the spirit I’m looking for!”

“This ship is heading to one of the 7 Canary Islands, more specifically, it’s heading to Gran Canaria.”

“On each of these islands, there are 50 boxers like you, boxers who are seeking to be the best in the world.”

“Over the next three months, you will live in "The Box" facilities, with no access to the outside world. You will train together, eat together, sleep together, and, of course, fight each other to claim the title of the best boxer.”

“Once you’re settled into your building, more details will be provided. For now, enjoy the cruise, meet other fighters, form good bonds, and see how big the difference in skill levels can be between you, young pugilists.”

“That’s all from me, now, enjoy.”

At that moment, unlike before, there were no cheers or shouts. They weren’t necessary. We all felt the same. The only thing we needed to hear was the loud beating of our hearts, which couldn’t wait to get into the ring.
