Chapter 7.
She is still alive.
The girl was trembling, the tears had completely soaked the bandage on her eyes, but she did not dare to open them, she was afraid that if she did she would see through the cloth the face of one of those hungry animals, because no matter how much they told her that they would fall asleep, it was not enough for her, it seemed that her husband hated her for no reason at all, it was then that she felt a pig approaching her.
She felt the wetness of her nose, and then she felt it fall on her feet, the animal did not move, it seemed that it had been sedated, but the slight contact that she had had with the animal had scared her to the point that she urinated on herself…
The hours passed and passed as if they were slowly torturing her; her body trembled, her feet were asleep under the animal and then her always alert brain disconnected and she fell asleep in a very deep sleep without knowing that just at that moment when she had managed to fall asleep the man had gone to the farm to see her…
It was about to dawn, it was almost 5 in the morning, Clara had not been able to sleep fearing for the girl, and when she saw her boss come in she hit him with the newspaper she had in her hand while she complained to him for being such a cruel man to put that girl through such a traumatic situation…
To which he only asked her: ¿is she still alive or has she already disappeared?, and grumbling, the 52-year-old woman said to him: The girl is still alive, fortunately the pigs were so full that they fell asleep, but then he told her: they fell asleep or you sedated them, but the woman answered: then it is the same as the miracle I am witnessing, you have no scar on your face and your legs are perfect, but the young woman must swear that you are disfigured and in a wheelchair…
That answer was enough for him to understand the situation and put on a mask that covered half of his face and only allowed one of his eyes and half of his mouth to be seen.
The guard who had brought the girl the day before entered the property with the wheelchair, and Clara, seeing her boss sitting in it, shook her head and said: how much longer will it take for you to continue deceiving the world, but the voice that came out from behind the mask said: until I get tired of lying, after this, the guard took the wheelchair with his boss to the pig pen, the girl's head was leaning forward showing that she was asleep, the pigs were exhausted everywhere and there was one at her feet, which did not give her a shred of remorse.
Auritz took a hose that was connected to a faucet right next to where they had been stranded and sprayed Kaled's body who woke up startled, but then he kept falling on her causing her to start shaking, and when he stopped, he ordered the guard named William to get her out of there.
She, hearing the name of the guard, assumed that he must be the same one who had brought her yesterday, and indeed, the moment he began to move the pig under her feet and helped her up, he whispered to her: you see, miss, I told you that he would come today, she barely smiled, and when William removed the blindfold she saw him for the first time: an imposing man sitting in a wheelchair, his face half covered with a mask…
She took a look at him, but indeed, the smell of the corral had stuck to his clothes, so she immediately ordered him to disappear from her sight inside the farm house and get rid of that stench that he had on him; She showed her hands almost as if telling him to take off the handcuffs, he barely noticed the action and said to William: take off the handcuffs and tell Clara to show her which room that impostor will occupy, the word stuck in his brain…
How was she an impostor? But he didn't want to say anything, he just walked away with his head down and his eyes full of tears and he said in a whisper so that no one would notice that he was talking: don't worry miss, I assure you that once you both know each other better the situation will change.
But what could change if for him she was an impostor, there was nothing that could be changed because the words had already been said, the words were worth more than a thousand actions and her husband had made it clear to her in their first meeting when he didn't even have the power to look her in the face.
