Chapter 9.
Spoiler guide.
Night had fallen again and a thick fog hung over the city. The streets were deserted and the air felt thick, almost like a foreshadowing of what was to come.
In a dark corner of an alley, a hooded figure watched, waiting for the right moment to act. The silence was deafening, broken only by the occasional sound of water droplets falling from the roofs. The figure moved with the grace of a predator, invisible in the darkness.
Meanwhile, a woman named Laura was hurriedly walking to her car after a long day at work. Her mind was occupied with the events of the day, not noticing the presence stalking her from the shadows. She reached her car and began searching for her keys in her purse, unaware that someone was sneaking up behind her.
Suddenly, a gloved hand grabbed her arm with brutal force. Laura let out a gasp as she tried to break free, but the attacker was relentless. He dragged her into the alley, where the darkness hid his actions. With precise and cruel movements, the attacker subdued her, leaving a mark of his brutality in each action.

Meanwhile, at the police station, Gabriel frantically reviewed the files of unsolved cases. He felt that there was a connection, a pattern that linked all these heinous crimes.
---
Laura was forced into the car against her will and her image was recorded by a security camera at an establishment near the scene of the crime. The recording showed the person who entered the car with her, putting what appeared to be a knife in the direction of her face and then starting to drive. In fact, the person had his face covered with a mask made of sackcloth, similar to a sack of potatoes.
The security guard of that establishment, upon reviewing the cameras two hours later and noticing this, ran very scared to call Officer Jake, who occasionally patrolled the area. When Jake answered, the security guard said: I have the evidence, come quickly. There is a woman injured who will probably be found dead tomorrow.
These words were enough for Jake to put everything aside and drive to the scene of the crime. Indeed, the recordings showed what happened from afar and now they knew that the woman was injured.
They had been able to identify her as Laura Gil, an accounting assistant at an accounting firm. This immediately set off all the alarms and they began to review all the security cameras looking for Miss Gil's car. This was the car in which the murderer had left with her.
Although at first it was not clear how he had arrived at the place, it was clear that it could be any of the people who had gone there during the day, dressed well, elegantly, casually and even in sports clothes.
This made Gabriel, when he was notified, search through the files again and confirm what he feared so much, indeed, this was the fourth murder they had committed twenty-two years ago.
Gabriel said: It's the same killer from twenty-two years ago. It's the one from the three-me crystalline rebellion. He didn't die, but something must have happened. He had to rebuild his life in some other country and when he returned to this one, he wanted to remember old times and he's repeating his old crimes like a play, in the same places, in the same places and with the same kind of people. Which indicates that the girl won't survive unless we get there in time, because the original victim was also a woman and she was found with her face removed and sewn to her stomach.
