Chapter 6.

The Investigation Begins.

Gabriel was stunned by the scene before his eyes. Questions flooded his mind as he tried to process the tragedy he had just witnessed. His boss, Officer Jake, patted him on the back and looked at him with a mix of concern and determination.

Gabriel, we need to find answers and fast, Jake said. Time is running out and everyone here is so quiet as if it really wasn't something tragic, which leads me to think that maybe everyone is involved in this attack against this creature, to which Gabriel said: ¿Really boss? ¿Do you think everyone agreed to do such a thing?

Just seeing the magnitude of the horror, cooking a month-old child in a supermarket oven, led Jake to tell him: this world is full of many crazy people, in the morning they can say one thing and at night do something very different, so don't be surprised that this is an act of revenge against a common employee or someone who simply made everyone upset...

So, immediately the supermarket was ordered to close and everyone who was inside the establishment was taken as suspected suspects of the crime, because a one-month-old child would not get inside an oven on his own, and much less could he close a door that weighs 100 times more than him, and only to cook himself, like a lethal fantasy that only exists in fictional stories...

This crime was committed by someone alive, someone who has accomplices, someone who manipulated the cameras so that neither he nor his assistants would be recorded in the act...

An ambulance took away the cooked body of the baby, which was still giving off steam, his eyes were so boiled eggs that looked like two boiled eggs placed to make a bad joke, but this was not a joke, this was real damn life…

Then, Gabriel sent a message to Graciela telling her to go home because the case had become complicated and it would take several hours at the place which could be tiring and exhausting for her, so it would be best for her to go home and rest…

She only told him to take care of himself because it was a very strange situation; something he also agreed with, that it was a very strange and complicated situation, and although he didn't reply to her message he knew she was right, he had to take care of himself because the situation was very sinister and disturbing...

The forensic experts arrived and took samples just as some experts took photos, but how unpleasant it was to have the sensation of a small baby being cooked, it was something that nobody wants to see at any stage of their life.

 However, they had already seen it, it was something completely heartbreaking that left nothing to interpretation, with which it seemed that the perpetrator wanted to say with this: look at me, I'm here idiot, and I can do whatever I want in this world without any kind of retaliation because I am untouchable...

If those were the thoughts of the person who dared to perpetrate this infanticide, it would be something very Machiavellian and narcissistic on his part: wanting to draw attention in that way just so that they would notice him, because by other means it would be almost impossible to stand out for the murderer or murderers.
