Chapter 10.

Dark Revelations.

With the girl safely at the Police Station, Iraide and Jared hoped to gain more information about her kidnapper. The little girl was scared, but slowly she began to open up and tell what she had experienced.

It wasn't Damien Holt who took me, the girl said in a shaky voice. He was there too... chained in the basement.

Iraide and Jared looked at each other, surprised. ¿What do you mean I was chained? Iraide asked softly.

There was a monster, the girl continued. He took me and put me in a cage in the basement. Damien was there too, hanging from the ceiling like a chandelier, with chains around his body. The monster had left him there.

¿And what happened next? Jared asked, trying to stay calm so as not to scare the girl further.

The monster took Damien before you arrived, the girl replied, her eyes filled with fear. I only heard his screams for help. Then the monster came back for me, but you got there in time.

Iraide felt a chill run down her spine. This meant that someone else was involved, someone much more dangerous and cunning. We have to find Damien Holt and the monster who kidnapped him, she said determinedly. We can't let this continue.

With this new information, Iraide and Jared headed back to the abandoned house. They knew they had to find any clue that would lead them to the real culprit. They searched the basement more carefully this time, looking for any hint of the monster's presence.

They found several marks on the walls and floor, signs that someone had been chained there. They also found traces of blood and hair, probably from Damien Holt. This confirms what the girl said, Jared muttered. Holt was here, but someone else was holding him prisoner.

Iraide checked the seas. She looked at the walls and noticed something peculiar. Look at this, she said, pointing to an inscription carved into the stone. It’s just one word: monster…

¿Do you think it could be a clue to the kidnapper?” Jared asked.

It’s possible, Iraide replied. We need to investigate more about this monster and its connection to all of this.

They returned to the Police Station and began searching the records for any information that could shed light on the kidnapper. It wasn’t an easy task, but they eventually found a series of similar incidents that had occurred over decades, all of them unsolved, but which recounted the terror of their victims, so they thought they might be dealing with the Renové Ripper himself.

This is bigger than we thought, Jared said, looking through the files. If the monster is behind this, we’re dealing with someone who’s been operating from the shadows for a long time.

Iraide nodded. We need to be cautious. This individual is dangerous and knows how to cover his tracks. But we won’t rest until we find Damien Holt and bring the monster to justice.

With renewed determination, Iraide and Jared prepared for the next phase of their investigation. They knew they were getting closer to unraveling Renové’s dark secrets and putting an end to the nightmare that had haunted the city for so long.
