Chapter 5.
The Storm of Vengeance.
Night was at its height when Marcus and Morgana's ships met on the raging sea. Mountain-high waves battered the vessels, and the wind howled like a harbinger of the impending battle.
The Shadow of Thunder and the Crimson Fury prepared for an epic showdown that would mark the fate of both captains and their crews.
On your marks, boys! Marcus shouted, his voice echoing above the roar of the sea. The sailors of the Shadow of Thunder responded quickly, adjusting the sails and readying the cannons. They knew that every second counted and that Morgana would not let up.
On The Crimson Fury, Morgana glared at the enemy ship. She remembered every moment of her past, every nightmare that had haunted her since she was a child, and she felt the rage burning in her chest.
This time Marcus, you will not escape my vengeance, she muttered under her breath. Behind her, a group of sorcerers worked silently in the cannon room, weaving a shield of magic that would protect the ship from enemy attacks.
¡Fire! Marcus ordered, and the cannons of The Shadow of Thunder boomed with a deafening roar. The cannonballs flew through the air, but when they hit The Crimson Fury, they bounced off as if they had hit an invisible barrier.
¿What the hell...? Jax, the first officer, exclaimed, his eyes wide.
Morgana is using magic, Marcus growled, his hands gripping the helm tightly. There is no place for magic at sea.
Marcus' crew threw themselves into the raging water, swimming with all their might towards the enemy ship. The waves battered their bodies, but their determination was unwavering. They must board The Crimson Fury and destroy that magical shield.
On the enemy ship, the sorcerers continued went about their work, whispering ancient words as the shield of magic glowed with a dim light. Morgana watched with satisfaction, confident that her plan was working.
Iris, leading a group of sailors, was one of the first to reach the hull of The Crimson Fury. With agile movements, she scaled the ropes and launched herself onto the deck, sword in hand. The enemy pirates surrounded her, but she faced them with a ferocity that left them surprised.
Marcus also managed to climb aboard, his eyes fixed on Morgana. ¡Morgana! he roared, challenging her to face him.
The captain turned to him, her eyes filled with hatred. Marcus, this time you will not escape your fate.
As the two captains faced each other in a duel to the death, the battle continued around them. Sailors from both sides fought with all their might, the clanging of swords and the screams of combatants filling the air.
In the cannon room, the sorcerers worked tirelessly, aware that their magic was the only defense against the Shadow of Thunder's attacks, but the pressure was mounting, and they knew they could not hold the shield indefinitely.
Iris, fighting alongside Marcus, shouted to her companions. ¡Find the sorcerers and destroy the shield!...
The sailors scattered, searching for the source of the magic. Finally, one of them found the cannon room and confronted the sorcerers. With a supreme effort, they managed to disrupt the spell, and the shield began to fade.
At that moment, lightning lit up the sky, and the waves struck with renewed force. The battle continued with an intensity that defied the fury of the storm. Swords clashed, cannons rumbled, and the screams of the combatants echoed through the night.
Marcus and Morgana continued to fight, each blow charged with years of hatred and vengeance. The battle was far from over, and both knew that only one of them would emerge victorious.
