“Heh. That’s alright. You did a pretty good job at healing me.” she smiled while she placed her down on the Couch as she kicked her armor off of the couch to the floor, a loud metal clunk startled the nurses from outside and quickly opened the door.

“D-DOCTOR ALPHYS?? IS EVERYTHING ALL… Right…?” The nurse caught Alphys being carried and blushed even harder as nobody sees her being carried that way. 

“Y-YES- YES!! CAN YOU PLEASE L-LEAVE NOW?” covering her red face, she even stutters more.

“We’re fine Nurse, don’t worry.” Undyne finally puts down Alphys to rest on the couch for a bit, still blushing hard, and covering her face with her hands “We’re sorry to alert you. It’s nothing really haha…”

“N-no it's okay… We just got worried, I’m so sorry for barging in.”

“No problem! Everything is okay!” she gives her a thumbs up giving a sign that everything is good and no need to worry about anything!

“If you insist… I’ll leave now.” she then closes the door behind her while Undyne goes back to bed to rest “I need a quick nap, love. Please take care of yourself there too. Feel comfortable with the blanket too, it’s very smooth.”

“I-I will…” she blushes a bit, calms herself down, covers herself with the blanket, and makes herself feel at rest while Undyne does the same. A moment of silence… and not even a few minutes pass by, Alphys’ eyes widen while holding the sheet blanket staring at the ceiling. “This is not right.”

“What do you mean?”

“I-I should be out there…”

“What? Come on, just give yourself like… a few minutes of rest.”

“I-I can't…” she looks down “there’s so many monsters that still need my help.”

“Oh yeah… that’s right.” She blushes of awkwardness and scratches the back of her head. “Well… how about just for a few minutes, and you’ll be back at the field again, Doctor?”

“Hmm… sounds good enough hehe” she giggles and smiles sweetly in her direction.

“Heh.. come in here you nerd” she opens her arms and Alphys jumps at her at the hospital bed “shh don’t alert the nurses” both of them stare at each other and laugh “Come here, Love.”

There they lay down together, hugging each other in comfort while covered in blankets. A few seconds pass by as they are in the comfort of hugging “I-If… anything happened…” Alphys said “I want to say that… I really love you” she blushes a bit but later tears slide down from her side.

“I love you too” she hugged her tight, making her feel that everything will be alright as she pats her head “you worry too much aren’t you? Heh”

“Can’t really feel better about our universe’s state… heh…”

“Ah that’s true…”

“P-plus… the thought of getting every multiverse to collapse…” she anxiously and nervously says “a-and… the thought that I’m losing everyone that I care about… and that I can be responsible for not being able to be vigilant that night… the thought of losing you… I-I… I…”

“You won’t lose me ever again, okay?” she looks at her face, giving her a reassuring look.

“How can I be sure of that?”

“I promise that I will take care of myself.” She lets out a pinky “Here, I will never back down on my Pinky Promise, and I swore.” promising that she will take care of herself from every encounter she will face. Meanwhile, Alphys in return replies to the pinky and they both swore to each other that they’ll take care of themselves.

“Promise to come back to me after everything.”

“I promise that.” She then proceeds to pull her close, hugs her tight, and smiles. “Now just enjoy  the moment we have together before you go back to the field again.”

“Well… I should be back at the Field now…”

“Oh come on, it's not even longer than a few minutes”

“Heh… you’re right” she nuzzles on her chest “Just a few more minutes…”

“There you go” there they shared a few moments together at that small hospital bed, who knows how they both fit in that. Not even a few minutes to their comfortable position, a Nurse knocked at the door.

“D-Dr. Alphys?”

She groans “who is it… I’m taking a nap here…”

“D-Doctor… I’m afraid we need you to go back to work.”

She snaps “A-AH! I COMPLETELY FORGOT!” in panic she pushed Undyne releasing herself from being hugged “I-IM SO SORRY…” she stepped out of the hospital bed and fixed Undyne’s blanket “Please continue resting, okay?”

“I will Doc”

“I’ll leave you here for a while” she smiles “I love you” and kisses her forehead, turning around, opens the door to a Anxious Nurse standing in front of her

Undyne smiles back but as soon as the door closes, her smile fades away, returns to her bed lying down, and pulls the sheets up to her chin. She then remembers the fight she had just hours ago, her comrades screaming in pain, blood splatters, makes her feel the guilt.

She tears a bit, faces the wall away from the exit, and curls up her body sobbing silently to the continuous guilt she is feeling. Now alone in the room… it rings her ears of silence… only hearing a faint crowd in the distant shouting at each other. This did not bother her as she went and closed her eyes, breathed for a few moments, and calmed herself down. In a second, she sleeps soundly, embraces her own legs as she curls her body.

As Undyne rests, Alphys on the other hand gets overworked already just after getting out of her partner’s room. A mad crowd outside the reception area where they usually wait or receive news from any Doctors are now storming some of the Nurses, almost harassing them. Some monsters are there patiently waiting, while some are being impatient. 

Alphys finally steps outside “Calm down everyone, what seems to be the problem?”

“Is Captain Undyne there? We need to know where my Son is!” a distressed mother asks the Doctor

Another parent comes forward to Alphys asking the same question “Where’s our son? We need to know it from the Captain!”

And the crowd just keeps on stacking up from each other asking the same kind of question, some are distressed, crying, mad, and almost harassing the Doctor, a few of the nurses try to stop them from getting any closer but this just drives them even more furious.

“I-I’m sorry everyone… Captain Undyne needs to rest.”

“Bullshit! What happened to our Son who’s under her supervision?”

“P-please… N-no need for foul language, we are trying our best.” A Nurse patiently asks them to calm down

“FOUL LANGUAGE? WE’VE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR HOURS-” there the crowd continues to exchange violent words to each other, seemingly getting into a heated argument already while Alphys stood there stressed, anxious, panicking not knowing what to say to them, she sweats profusely, legs trembling because of the presence she’s been feeling out of the crowd, she closed her eyes, ducks down covering her ears when all of a sudden, a Door behind her opens. The crowd stops getting violent.

She opened her eyes and turned out quickly only to see Undyne. “Y-Your not supposed to be standing yet!” She anxiously tries to push her, but Undyne stands still unbothered, looks through the crowd and notices it's the Relatives of all those Knights that died during the battle.

“C-Captain!! W-where’s our Son??” An anxious parent reaches out to Undyne, kneels down on the ground and holds her hands “p-please.. Tell me… i-is my baby doing okay?” a tear falls down from her eyes through her cheeks.

Undyne unbothered, stood still letting the parent hold her hands. When all of a sudden, tears started rolling down her cheeks as well, still standing despite her legs starting to tremble. “I… I apologize…” she kneels down instantly, removing a parent’s hand from her, on all her fours begging everyone to understand.

A tear drops on the floor, and it follows another one, until the tears drop even more that she eventually starts sobbing. “I’m really sorry everyone… sniffs I-Its all my fault… Please… D-Do whatever you want with me… I deeply apologize… to everyone…”

“W-what happened… to my son…?” the same anxious parent who held Undyne’s hand asked her while the parent fell down, sat on the floor, with the most beat down depressed face. “I-Is my SON DEAD?!” she wails her fist on Undyne who’s on all fours sobbing, unmoved from the parent’s wailing.

“I-I’m really sorry… Ma’am…” she continues to sob.

“NO! NO… no…” the parent starts to sob too, while the other parents start asking her the same questions, to which she always replies “I apologize…” Everyone's emotions, mixed. Some parents tried to push Undyne, harassing her, but she remained unbothered, unmoved. While some parents fell down on the floor, sobbing, passed out, and some lost the will to live without their child knowing that… they will never come home again. Some parents even spit at her, even throw random stuff such as Dirt from the nearest pot of plant within the Clinic.

Undyne continues to receive violent reactions from some parents while Alphys continues to watch from the side… She received different bruises, a few bleeding, and painful slaps and kicks. Nurses try their best to stop them, but they just get pushed back, until Alphys tries to pull her out of force. However Undyne stops her, and continues to receive the punishment she deserves from the parents that lost their kids.

Alphys gets fed up, runs towards Undyne and protects her by releasing a Huge Forcefield of Barrier sending the crowd away from them.

“S-stop it… please… this is too much…” Alphys sobbing, begs her to stand up “Let’s get you back to your room please…”

“I’m so sorry Alphys… I have to do this… It is my Honor to receive the desired punishment from those who lost a member of their Family.”

“Y-YOU DON’T! You are badly wounded too… You’ve fought your battles too… You deserve to rest… You’ve done your Job… And all of your Comrades too”

“You don’t understand… They were instantly killed sniffs right before my eyes…” Undyne sobs as she shouts and the crowd hears it “I couldn’t respond to each and one of them on the spot… If only I could turn back the time and be able to respond to them…” she raises her head and looks at everyone “I’m not asking for forgiveness… I was at fault… I’m so sorry everyone… But I know how it feels… and I allow you to do this to me… as my Honor as the Captain that has failed to protect your loved ones…”

“P-please it's enough Undyne, you're dehydrated.”

“No please… Everyone should hear this… I never have once stopped believing in all of your loved one’s abilities, I loved each and everyone of them like they are my Brothers and Sisters.” she continues to shout “So I apologize… deeply… I-I don’t need to have your forgiveness. I know my place…” she stood up slowly with Alphys assisting her inside the barrier.

“I… I forgive you.” One of the parents shouted, certainly still looking mad at Undyne with its clenching fist, but she forgave her.

“Thank you… but it won’t matter…”

“Please… Give yourself a rest.” The same parent said it, and without hesitations, the parent left the crowd, walked away, sobbing continuously.

“P-please assist the parent, Nurse” Doctor Alphys asked the nearest nurse to assist the parent leaving “We’ll be going back to her room” as they leave, the shield follows them towards Undyne’s room while the crowd stood still, some of them falling down on their knees, as Nurses try to assist them. Undyne looks back one last time, and continues to walk towards her room.

Alphys assisted straight to her Bed, she lays down there, while she tucks the Blanket on her. Facing the side of the wall away from Alphys, she sobs quietly. “P-please… keep on resting here, save your energy.” As she walks back to grab a few things “I’ll be back okay?”

She remains silent as the footsteps start to fade and nothing left but silence. It starts to ring her ears of the total silence in the room. A few minutes passed by, Alphys came in holding a small bucket, and a warm towel to wipe off the remains of the dirt from the mixed emotional parents earlier.

“U-Undyne? I’m back, are you-” she hears a snore “-doing… okay… heh… she fell asleep." She smiles calmly, sighs and walks to her bed. She placed the small bucket on the bed side table, dumps the towel on the warm water, and wrings the excess water. She looks at Undyne, grabs her chin slowly and faces it directly at her, wiping off the dirt on her face. Later wipes every part of her that got kicked, slapped, and bruised.

As she finishes, she takes the bucket out, walks outside and closes the Door to give her some space as she continues to sleep, unbothered from getting cleaned. Alphys sighed and walked out, gazing at her one last time, and finally closed the door.
