Arriving at the Guild, I see that it is a bit crowded. Three queues are in front of me, and each one leads to a different attendant. Some people are sitting on the couch, talking to each other about random topics.
The Crystals of Light illuminate the place very well, making everything visible. A large chandelier is on the ceiling, with several white Crystals of Light.
Rei and I get in line and wait until it's our turn.
Usually, the Guild is full at that time. The adventurers exit the dungeon and immediately exchange the crystals for money to eat or spend on something else.
Normal establishments are open until 23:00 p.m. Only the Adventurer's Guild and some other places, like hospitals, are open 24 hours a day.
When it's time for our service, I come across a man with gray hair wearing square glasses, wearing the employee's uniform. The man appears to be young and has a square jaw.
"How can I help?" He asks in a thick but calm voice.
"We came to exchange our crystals." I speak as Rei pulls them out of the bag.
Reinier places all eight yellow crystals on the counter; they have an imperfect diamond shape.
"Do you have any mission papers?" The attendant asks while counting the crystals with his finger.
"No. We did it on our own." Rei says.
The clerk then opens the hip-high money organizer box and takes out some gold coins.
He places eight coins on the counter, totaling 160 dungions. Renier takes the coins and puts them in his purse. The attendant takes the crystals and stores them in another organizing box.
Rei walks towards the exit, and I follow.
"Check back often." The man speaks Reinier and I leave.
As I'm leaving, I see an interesting announcement on the blackboard on the Guild wall.
[Grand Adventurer Tournament | Sponsored by House Astrid]
[Awards: 1st Place: D$15,000 | 2nd Place: D$7,500 | 3rd Place: D$3,750]
I think it would be interesting to watch this tournament. Then I'll come back here to see it in more detail.
House Astrid always holds one of these tournaments at least once a year, and every time there is a famous participant. By the way, this might be the chance for me to find some interesting members for my House.
I leave the Guild and see that Reinier was waiting for me.
"Okay, what can we do with one hundred and sixty dungions?" Rei asks with her hands on her hips.
"Hmm...Well, with all the money, I think we could buy a simple breastplate made of iron, but I don't like armor very much; it limits my movement a lot, besides being heavy."
"I would like to have armor, but it wouldn't be fair to you. I think we have to split the money and buy something useful." Reinier is right; dividing the money gives 80 dungions, maybe to buy something to help us explore.
"With eighty Dungions we can buy two Pectoral Plates." I answer.
"Erm...And what would that be?" Rei asks.
"Pectoral Plate is a light metal flap designed to protect the pectoral, obviously; it is small but dense, allowing greater mobility and helping in the defense of the pectoral, obviously."
"Then I think this is the best option for both of us." He answers.
"Before we go, what time do you want to go to level sixteen tomorrow?" I ask.
"It could be ten in the morning; I need to get a long night's sleep after today." He says stretching his arms.
"I agree with you, and we still need to have dinner, shower, and buy the Plate..." There's still a lot of work to be done.
Reinier sighs.
"See you tomorrow, then." Rei says.
"Don't forget to buy the level sixteen map, because we're going to need it." I say and head towards my inn. Reinier is gone too.
Arriving there, I go in and see the two attendants behind the counter talking about something.
"Good night, girls." I say smiling, inner brows up.
"Good night... Wow, are you okay?" The woman on the right asks, shocked by my state.
"It looks like you got into a fight with someone." The girl on the right says.
Both are impressed. Well, it's not every day that I come in like this.
"Let's just say I worked overtime today." I say going upstairs to go to my room.
"He takes care of himself." One of them says.
I open my bedroom door, and finally I can rest...
Today was quite a day.
After taking a shower and changing into more casual clothes, I go to a restaurant near my inn for dinner.
The restaurant was full, and it took a while for the food to arrive. In the end, I had a vegetable soup with meat and noodles. It was a little pricey, but I deserved an award after today.
I finally return to my room and get to sleep.
Of course, before going to sleep, I put on my blue pajamas. I can only sleep with him.
I close my eyes and finally get to sleep after this tiring day.
The next day, I wake up with sunlight illuminating my room. Looking at my small clock on the side, I see that I woke up at 8:30 a.m.
The sun is already rising, and the day is starting. The sun's rays enter my room, illuminating my bed and a little of the floor.
Today I'm feeling more rested, of course. I still feel a little pain in my arms and legs; it must have been because of the physical exertion I did yesterday.
Now I need to change to arrive and meet Rei in the Dungeon Tower.
I go to the bathroom and splash water on my face to wake up more. The water is cold but refreshing.
I open my wardrobe and pull on a long-sleeved black shirt, a pair of gray pants that are very light and form-fitting, and my little purse that I wear on my hip.
I go to my nightstand next to my bed and pull open the top drawer.
In it, I get bandages, a band-aid, and a small 12-inch torch.
I put all these items in my bag.
Now I just need to stretch and go to a blacksmith or gunsmith to buy a Pectoral Plate.
Leaving the inn, I walk through the streets, heading towards the Dungeon Tower and at the same time looking for a blacksmith that is open at this hour.
Passing through the streets, I finally find a gunsmith shop that is open.
The store from the outside is made of white concrete, with a vertical glass to the left of the entrance, which shows the inside of the store. And the dark wooden door is located on the right.
The roof has a triangle-rectangle shape and is made of bricks.
Entering the place, I come across a large workbench made of wood to my right. It extends to the end of the building. Behind the workbench, several swords, spears, and knives are displayed on a shelf, mounted on the wall, and protected by glass.
On my left side, I see several wooden cases with armor inside them.
A dwarf, who was sitting on a high stool, comes towards me.
He wears a white dress shirt with beige pants. He has a goatee and brown hair parted in the middle. Furthermore, he's probably in his 30s.
"Good morning. How may I help you?" He says it in a strong voice.
"I'd like a Pectoral Plate, please."
"Only a moment." He goes to the back of the store.
After a few seconds, he brings the Plate holding it with both hands.
After buying it, I leave the store and put it on. She has a silver-white color. The plate is triangular in shape, and the material is a little thick. It has leather straps attached to the ends to secure it to the body. The metal is gleaming and shiny, and sunlight reflects when it hits the surface of the Plate.
I see her attaching the leather straps; it was a bit embarrassing to attach the straps as they are attached to the back, so I had a little trouble doing it.
The triangular shape of the board is upside down, wide at the start, and tapering as it goes down.
Finally, I head towards the Dungeon Tower.
Buildings in the Dungeon Area are usually very close to each other, almost glued together. Some buildings are actually connected to each other, and this makes their internal space smaller. Commonly, most of the buildings that are glued together are stores.
Arriving at the Dungeon Tower, I see that the place is starting to get busy. I look for Reinier and see that he hasn't arrived yet.
This time, I'm the one who's going to complain about being late!
After a few minutes, I finally see Reinier coming in the distance.
He wears a burgundy colored shirt with the Pectoral Plate he probably bought today. He also wears black pants that appear to be lightweight that go to the heel. Rei also carries a small pouch around her waist. And, of course, carrying his sword in its scabbard.
"Finally here, huh?" I say approaching him.
"Did you arrive long ago?" He asks.
"About five minutes ago." I say smiling. "Let's go?" I head towards the elevator.
We wait in line and finally go down into the dungeon.
"Did you buy the map?" I ask Reinier in the elevator.
"Yes, yes. Thanks for the concern." He answers.
"Just in case, haha."
Without much difficulty, we go down to level 11 again and find the entrance to the next level, level 12.
