There was a knock at the front door!

Millie had just finished loading the dishwasher! She quickly popped in the detergent tablet and pressed start.

Who could it be? No one came here, only Dusty's Uncle occasionally!

She took a peek through the window beside the door, but didn't see anyone!

When she opened the door, she found not a person, but a flower!

A pretty pink Rose Bud, with a note attached! She picked it up and read!

Dear Millie,

Please come over for afternoon tea, in the Pink Van.

See you in 15 minutes.

Luna? Millie's heart skipped a beat! Her neighbor?

Luna was living in the house next door?

Her smile grew! Afternoon tea, in the Pink Van!

15 minutes!

She had better hurry!

What should she wear? Pink?

Going through her wardrobe she picked out a pink floral dress. She had liked the loose, bun from yesterday, so she tried it today. Her cheeks, were still flushed with pink. She was happy at her refection. She smiled. And dashed out the door!

The girl that walked into her yard, couldn't be Millie!

Luna smiled at the pretty girl dressed in pink.

What a change from yesterday!

You look beautiful! - Luna complimented - Perfectly Pretty in Pink!

Millie wanted to say, You Too! Luna looked gorgeous, she also wore a pink dress, but with tiny Strawberries printed over it! Her long dark hair, hung in curls down her back!

Millie smiled, Thank you for inviting me. I have been wanting to see your Van!

Then come on in!

It was so cute! Two single beds, up the back. A tiny kitchenette opposite the door, and small table and two bench seats at the front, next to the drivers cabin.

The inside was decorated with shades of pink, mixed with some white and silver!

Tasseled pink curtains hung from the windows. Scatter cushions dotted the beds and seats.

The table was set with pretty china plates, Tea Cups, a vase of Daisies and a plate of cupcakes iced in pink.

Oh I love it! - Millie's face lit up in glee!

Me too! - Luna grinned. - But Star, isn't very impressed with the colour! - She laughed.

Star?

My twin brother!

Oh well, I guess he wouldn't be! - Millie laughed.

Tea? - Luna asked.

Yes please! - Millie was excited! She sat at the table while Luna made a pot of tea.

This was the first time she had been to a Tea Party with a friend. It was like a Dream!

The Tea was lovely, the cakes delicious! Luna was so easy to talk to! Millie found herself, chatting happily. Luna had a knack of keeping the conversation flowing, asking questions that were not too personal.

Millie was relieved, she didn't want to hide anything from Luna, didn't want to lie, or reveal her secrets!

Maybe Luna would turn out to be a perfect friend. Someone she could spend some time with and cure her loneliness.

She was having such a lovely time, she became a little emotional!

Are you alright Millie?

Luna's sweet voice, broke through her musings. Making her choke up! Luna shouldn't have said that! Now she was going to cry!

Luna rose and pulled Millie into her arms as the tears fell! This dear girl, needed her! Luna hugged her close! It felt comforting! It felt right! Luna couldn't help feeling that Millie belonged, right here in her arms.

Sorry! - Millie lean't back slightly, she didn't pull away. It felt too good to be held! She gazed into Luna's eyes! Those stunning eyes!

Don't be sorry, I am here for you! You can lean on me! - Luna gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, and stroked her hair!

She felt swamped with love! Millie was reminded of her mother for a second. But then that thought flew from her mind, when Luna's lips brushed hers.

Tingles ran up Millie's spine! Sensation overtook her. Luna was gazing at her, judging her reaction. She was unsure!

Luna gently eased away. She could tell that Millie was confused! She must ease the situation before Millie bolted again! She smiled. - Do you like flowers?

Millie nodded.

What is your favourite?

I'm not sure!

I love all flowers, but my favourite are Roses!

Millie gulped! She felt stricken for a moment! Calm down she told herself! She doesn't know! She was still being emotional! Paranoid!

What was that reaction? Luna's eyebrows rose in question?

Millie forced a smile! - I had better get going, I have to make dinner for Dusty! Thank you for the lovely Afternoon Tea!

Luna took both of Millie's hands in hers.

Looking down, at Luna's hands, Millie noticed for the first time, the pretty rings. On each of Luna's thumbs were bands of gold, that held gleaming Moonstones. Luna was circling her thumbs over Millie's hands. A sense of calm took over her! She smiled and slowly pulled her hands away.

Goodbye! Luna! - Millie left with a wave.

See you soon! - Luna whispered. - And prayed she was right!

It wasn't until, Millie was home and reached for the Door handle that she noticed. The shimmering image of a half moon, on each of her Thumb nails.
