Dex Solstice and Tanya Zephyra, two infamous outlaws with a bounty given to them by the Intergalactic Federation worth millions of Myrid, went to a brand new city in Vespera nicknamed the “City of Fashion”, exploring the district and disguising as tourists from another planet.
The city was nicknamed the “City of Fashion” due to the citizens wearing expensive and exquisite clothing, with it being made with high-end materials and holographic wear slowly becoming the new trend over the past couple of years.
Multiple humans, beasts, and other creatures of different ethnicities alike walked at the bright sidewalks of the city, which was styled to look like a runway for fashion models to walk around.
Many people were having conversations as to what designer clothing brand they preferred, and which was their favorite model, while the latter were simply tourists that came to the city to see the elegant display of fashion, which was what Dex and Tanya were exactly doing.
However, their fashion style was quite outdated, or unpopular to say the least, with most of the citizens wearing high-tech and futuristic clothing that consisted of light, holographic outerwear and metallic boots with wheels that helped the citizen’s move around the area quite quickly. While they wore dark clothing, with influences of grunge rock and many more.
Since they looked different from the norm in the city, many people gave them negative looks, and assumed that they were just foreigners from another planet that had a different style from the rest of them.
“Why are those people looking at us? Can’t they just mind their own business or something?!”
Tanya angrily exclaimed to Dex, who was also wondering the same thing on why those people gave them “that look”, even though they did absolutely nothing to them in the first place.
“It’s nothing… They’re probably just jealous that we look better than them.”
Dex replied in a calm yet energetic tone.
The two kept walking through the sidewalks of the city where they kept getting looks from people wearing elegant designs all throughout the city, making the two uncomfortable.
“Y’know, we should definitely get out of here before I turn these people into dust.”
Tanya expresses in an irritated tone, unleashing a surge of lightning that surrounds her entire body, which always happens whenever she is irritated or gets provoked by someone or something.
“No need to do that, we’ll just go to another district and move on…” said Dex, who was unnaturally calm and collected, something that doesn’t occur as often.
The two outlaws disguised as tourists walked around the district, with the Intergalactic soldiers failing to notice their presence in the area, they kept exploring the shops, marketplaces, and the neon lights that were scattered all around the city, giving it the aesthetic look that it was primarily known for.
Since there were almost no opponents in the city, the two decided upon themselves that they would let their guard down and simply hang out around the city with no worry about anyone sneaking up on them and attacking from behind.
“Walking around here is quite tiring to say the least… Why don’t we go eat first before we explore that mall there?”
Tanya pointed her finger at a nearby restaurant that served fried chicken, Dex was quite surprised at her choice of food, almost as if she knew that it was his favorite food.
“I’ve been craving for some chicken for so damn long! Good thing you saw that restaurant, or else we would’ve ate at some overpriced cafe somewhere down the road!”
Dex was filled to the brim with excitement, having high expectations for the food that the restaurant served, while Tanya seemed calm and composed about it, only suggesting the place because it looked quite appealing to the eye.
Shortly after, the two entered the restaurant, and instantly smelled the aroma of the delicious fried chicken that they served. With just the smell alone, they already imagined in their heads the crispiness and juiciness of the fried chicken that they were serving.
The two ordered their meals, with Tanya jumping in excitement, eagerly waiting for their fried chicken to be served to them in a diamond-shaped plate.
“Uh– Can I have, like, an entire bucket of fried chicken? S-Specifically 12 pieces, thanks…”
Dex awkwardly said to the cashier, who was utterly confused by his order, but still managed to understand it despite its vagueness.
“You should definitely work on your social skills. With a face like that, people expect you to be somewhat talkative.”
Tanya told Dex, who was known to be socially awkward and lacked social skills, especially to women like the cashier from earlier, whom he stuttered heavily.
“Yeah… I should definitely work on that…”
Dex looked down in embarrassment, and sat down on a table with two comfy chairs. Tanya simply stood there, jumping up and down in excitement, waiting for their order, which slightly annoyed her leader, Dex.
“If you’re gonna wait, at least sit down, and try not to make us look weird in front of hundreds of people.”
Dex expressed in an uneased tone, with multiple people staring back at them, it felt quite uncomfortable, and Tanya also felt that too. She suddenly stopped jumping, and sat down on the table where Dex resided, with a shameful look on her face.
“You’re right, it makes me look like some kind of child…”
Tanya sat down and impatiently waited for the order, rocking her chair up and down while Dex stared at the attractive neon lights placed effectively across the entire district that the City of Fashion was highly regarded for.
After a short while, their order of an entire bucket of fried chicken, specifically 12 pieces, was served to Dex and Tanya, who were eagerly waiting for their order for minutes. With their order now served to them, they were quite excited to finally dig in.
The smell of the fried chicken caught their attention almost instantly, and the fried chicken was covered in honey, giving it a sweet, and crispy taste.
Tanya was about to dig in first, but she was stopped by Dex, who took the entire bucket for himself and started eating the fried chicken, with crunching sounds of the crispy fried chicken being heard, making Tanya’s appetite even larger.
“Hey! Let me have some!”
Her entire body surrounded in a surge of lightning, she took the bucket away from Dex in the speed of lightning, and quickly ate the fried chicken that was dipped in honey. The crisp, juicy feeling gave Tanya a feeling of relief, and the chicken was so good in fact, that she started to levitate above the table, catching the attention of everyone in the restaurant.
Dex saw this as an opportunity to eat all of the chicken from the bucket, while Tanya was at a state of ascendance just from taking one bite of the fried chicken.
The people were quite perplexed on what was happening between the two, grabbing their cameras and recording the phenomenon, posting it into a website called SpaceTube wherein it got millions of views in just the span of a few seconds.
Most of the people left the restaurant to inform the Intergalactics about this phenomenon, but the Intergalactic forces refused to believe that something like that actually happened, thinking that it was just a hoax and that the people just fell for it.
“We’re in big trouble right now because of you, Tanya…”
Dex complained, with the people who left the restaurant still in shock over her suddenly levitating on the table. Thankfully, the levitating stopped, and Tanya was now back to her normal self.
“Wh-What the hell happened just now?”
Tanya wondered to herself, with Dex staring at her in complete disdain, palming his face in utter disappointment.
“Look what you just did…”
Dex showed a video in his phone of Tanya levitating on the table after taking just one bite of the fried chicken, causing quite the ruckus in the restaurant, with the people yelling out in excitement and leaving many people wondering how she even did that in the first place.
The video reached millions of views in just a few minutes, essentially making them known, but in the wrong way.
“Ain’t no way we’re gonna be known as ‘those who levitated in some random restaurant’, we’re gonna be known as the strongest outlaws in the entire galaxy!”
Dex yelled at her in complete irritation.
“Yeah, sorry about that, I just got too carried away…”
Tanya apologized, and the two went out of the restaurant, with Dex finishing the 12 pieces of chicken in just the span of a few minutes.
However, as they were walking past the sidewalk, a masked swordsman was gazing at them from the rooftops of one of the buildings located near the restaurant. He was intrigued by what had just happened with the two, and felt like they knew something, specifically something that he also has a lot of knowledge about.
