The skyscraper was on the verge of collapsing, with the flames continuing to intensify and spread out to the higher floors, while the smoke engulfed everything in sight. Most of the citizens were evacuated by the Intergalactic soldiers who interfered, and ambushed the Sandstorm members who came down the skyscraper all covered up with bruises and burns from the flames.
“Surrender now, and face the consequences!”
One of the Intergalactic soldiers yelled out to the hopeless Sandstorm members, who had no choice but to surrender to the Intergalactic Federation and go to their maximum security prisons where escape was utterly futile due to the indestructible walls and sentry turrets that will not hesitate to shoot anything that comes their way.
While the Intergalactic Federation interfered with the activity regarding the Sandstorm members planning to flee to another town to cause yet another ruckus, Dex finally ascended to the 62nd floor, where he was met with an explosion and a surge of lightning that flickered throughout the entire floor.
Dex saw a girl who was fighting Herald, the leader of Sandstorm, with her struggling to even get a single strike on him. The girl was surprisingly the same age as him, had noticeably short, elegant, white hair and had almost the same fashion sense as Dex, making him consider his decision on recruiting her for his outlaw crew.
The woman was in a battle with Herald, who was a blonde-haired man who fought with a drone that supported him in fighting. The drone had a miniature laser minigun strapped to it, capable of firing a furious amount of laser beams to a target and leaving it severely injured or even dead.
Herald, accompanied by his laser drone, grabbed the woman by the neck, giving her no chance to breathe at all.
The woman was at the brink of death, when she suddenly saw a boy that was the same age as him, with long, wavy, two-toned black and silver hair, standing for a moment, before subtly creating a hand sign that intrigued her in a way.
“H-Help me…”
The woman tried to say something to the boy, but to him it was inaudible, and he couldn’t hear what she just said.
“Help? There’s no one here to help you!”
Herald tightened his grip over her neck, creating a bruise on her neck that was noticeable from afar, the woman was in a state of helplessness, and her only hope was the boy who had to choose wisely whether he would save her or leave her be.
Without saying anything to each other, they both understood that in order to survive, they had to help each other out, and that was exactly what they did.
Dex dashed towards the woman, and relentlessly slashed the leader Herald with his twin daggers, lacerating him and creating deep wounds on his torso in the process.
The drone retaliated, and unleashed a fury of laser beams that were aimed on Dex’s head, but it was too late, as Dex slashed the drone in half horizontally, causing it to break and leaving Herald severely weakened now that his trump card was defeated by the mysterious outlaw that interfered.
Herald felt true fear in his soul for the first time in his life, seeing Dex as a monster, a beast that needed to be vanquished, and an anomaly that shouldn’t exist from the confines of this world.
“Y-You shouldn’t exist! That’s not possible–”
“Shut up… I’m currently in need of some comrades right now.”
Herald screamed in agony, but was interrupted by Dex, who shut his mouth up, making him unable to talk.
The woman was extremely thankful for what Dex did to her, she didn’t expect that he would understand her vague message, and save her from a dangerous opponent.
“Thank you so much for saving me! My name is Tanya Zephyra, I’ll do anything to repay you.”
The woman, whose name was Tanya Zephyra, another infamous outlaw who came from the outskirts of Vespera, thanked the stranger for his efforts, and she would do just about anything to repay the debt that she has for him.
“Well, I really need some people for my outlaw crew… If you want to, you could join me, and put the entire world on a pedestal.”
Dex suggested that she join his outlaw crew, and make a name for themselves throughout the galaxy. The Age of Outlawry seems to be at its peak, with multiple outlaw crews forming left and right, with the Intergalactic Federation failing to stop the formation of crews in all sectors of the entire galaxy.
“I’m more than glad to join… But I do have a question to ask, what’s the name of your outlaw crew?”
Tanya curiously asked her leader Dex about what the same of their outlaw crew should be, since she was now a part of his crew, she needed to know his intentions and motives, and why he would start an outlaw crew.
“For the outlaw crew… Uhh- I haven’t decided a name for it yet…”
Dex answered Tanya with a mundane response, causing her to be slightly irritated, but still calm in a way.
“I see…” Tanya replied, still unsatisfied over his leader’s answer.
However, they realized that the building was about to collapse in upon itself, and needed to immediately flee from it so that they could live to see another day. The walls started to crack, and its structure was seen as brittle and weak.
The Intergalactic soldiers, detaining the remaining Sandstorm members from the first floor, all retreated back to their spaceships where they fled from the building that was about to collapse and fall down to the ground.
“Quick! We need to do something!”
Tanya exclaimed to her leader, with almost no way out of a situation like this, she started to panic, and with the building starting to fall over, it did not help with her current mental state.
However, Dex had a plan. He decided to grab Tanya by her chest, and jump down to the ground where they risked certain death, but he still persevered.
“W-Wait! What the hell are you doing? If this continues, we’re both gonna die!”
Tanya cried out in a state of pure panic, while Dex hysterically laughed at the situation, confusing his newly acquired crew member as they both fell down the building.
“It ain’t fun unless it guarantees certain death!”
Dex screamed out at the top of his lungs, as they fell down at a fast pace, with seemingly no safe place to drop in sight. However, Dex conveniently had two parachutes that he put on his bag earlier that were used solely for these types of situations.
“Take this! We’re going to drop off at that apartment!”
Dex gave Tanya the parachute, and they planned to drop down at a nearby apartment far from any Intergalactic activity. Tanya felt hope once again, while Dex was satisfied with his adrenaline rush earlier.
