Miss. Seymour introduced us to the other six children who already lived there. There's a boy named James Clark. He's thirteen and the oldest here, he’s very quiet. There’s a girl named Theresa Raymond, she's seven. She has pretty blonde hair. There’s a girl named Annie Gardner who's here now, who wasn’t before, and she's six right now and the youngest, she’s easily scared. There's a boy named Liam Sawyer, he's my age, eleven, and he has really messy hair. It's funny though. There's another boy named Charles Bennet, everyone calls him Charlie. He's twelve, and he seems to like writing because that’s all I see him doing. The last kid there is Finley Hughes, but they all just call him Finn. He's nine and is really obnoxious.
This orphanage was better and kinder to its occupants than Miss, Harris’s and the safe house combined, And that was where me and elizabeth lived, we couldn’t be happier, nobody treated us wrongly, nobody harshly punished us and we were happy, nothing else strange happened since Lola being sent on, I made friends here, and so has Elizabeth. We were happy here, and we had all we ever wanted. We finally weren't terrified of what's to come every day and could actually have fun and let down our guard. We visited Lola and her mother a bit after getting there and brought them flowers. We stayed a while and it was nice to be there, and to our surprise, We saw Lola and her mother again when we were sitting, was we saw them appear
“Cass? Beth? Is that really you?” Lola asked us with a simile ear to ear
“Yes, Oh we never thought we would ever see you again” I said in utter surprise
“We can't stay long, if you keep visiting us we might appear again”
“We’ll miss you” Elizabeth mumbled,
“We’ll miss you too” said Lola as she and her mother once again vanished, and a outline of fog remained where they stood,
We walked back to the coach yard, hand and hand, and left them resting under the stone angels' watchful eye.
Cassandra Carlton is an orphan, but her orphanage has a secret, a dark, dark secret. Her and her sister Elizabeth were waiting to be adopted like any other children would be, but Elizabeth found a key. That simple key opened a lock to a door that hid information so obscure, so unforeseen, that none of them would ever have predicted it.
