Marilou couldn't believe it. It was really her brother, in the mirror. His face, technically, and he was alive. The teen sighed in relief; at least he was doing good.
Breathing shakily, the young girl tried to think positively. She thought and knew the other spirits were surely judging her, yet she didn't care. All that she did care about was that one mirror, her brother's face right in front of her.
Briefly, the situation. In the situation, what the ghosts thought didn't bother her. Her azur gaze frozen in her brother's, she tried to read his thoughts.
- How is this possible? She muttered under her breath, questioning Rebecca with the strength of her glance, interrogation marks in her eyes
The concerned one shrugged, making a slight chin movement towards Isaac.
- Talk to him, he's hyperventilating. Rebecca smirked as she replaced her auburn hair, giving a nudge in Marilou's hair, subtly
Effectively, the youngest could see her brother's frozen traits, panicked to see his younger sister in such a way. Noticing that he finally had her attention, Isaac sighed, tilting his head to the side.
- Reassure me, you're on the other side of the mirror and you're playing a trick on me, and those ghosts are only realistic drawings.
- I apologize, I can't reassure you, I don't even know where I am. Marilou retorted, taking a pause before she spoke again, I don't even know who they are.
Isaac scowled, his expression hardening in anxiety and anticipation. Visibly, he didn't quite believe his sister. Yet he noticed something, and Marilou knew which, only by looking into his eyes.
Oh yes, the boy has a very expressive face, and he was told that often. And if there was someone who saw it better than anyone, it would clearly be Marilou.
Unfortunately for him, the girl learned how to bottle up her emotions, so he couldn't guess how she was feeling, and Marilou read through him easily. Which wasn't reassuring.
- They all look as invisible as Lilith, Loulou. Are they spectrums? Are you a prisoner? Do our special symbol if it's the case! He replied, pouting
- That's not it...The "prisoner" said, glaring at him impatiently
Isaac raised his brows, surprised. His shoulders slumped down, and he stood there, his eyes wandering all over her face with suspicion. She caught him off guard.
As he was searching for her, he found her pleading look in the mirror on his right. Although it wasn't quite realistic and it didn't make a lot of sense, he didn't ignore it.
First, because she was his sister, and second, because his curiosity took over, like always. The young boy had to admit the latest events had some coincidence. Sadly, he wasn't Albert Einstein.
Marilou realize this before him, and he was convinced of that. Remaining silent as he scrutinized her, he then watched around the corridor. His parents were seeking her presence as well, but weren't that worried.
The manor was so odd, empty, nobody dared to stroll around it. Yet Shannon and Philip didn't know what the twins did about what was hiding in the dark areas inside the murky place.
- Marilou, did they hurt you? Isaac inquired, his voice shaking as he gestured to her bloody finger
- Ah! She spoke, suddenly getting in a good mood, That's the reason we can communicate now!
- By cutting your finger? The teen insisted, skeptical, Why didn't they do it in their own?
Marilou and the strangers looked at each other, confused. Was it really possible to cut through a spectrum, considering it is made from invisible material? If it was invisible, it didn't contain blood and it was impossible to break.
- Marilou? Whimpered Smithy, crying like a baby as Isaac covered his ears
With no hesitations, Isaac slammed a hand on the man's mouth as he struggled and moved around. He sent him a deadly glare, and Alphy slowly regained his composure.
- Shut up, I'll explain everything later on. It's not the time to ruin this, and mostly not to get kicked off the mansion. And my parents would kill me if they learned that I was letting my young sister be friends with an older man dressed weirdly.
- Well, she didn't have to befriend me. He grumbled, folding his arms as Marilou held her laugh
The spirits cleared their throats, feeling like a third wheeling. Sir Alfred William Smith, Marilou and Isaac shifted towards the group of different ages.
- Great! Kiara commented, clapping her hands, Now what is it that we'll talk about, fam?
- A manner to escape this filthy room, of course! Marilou groaned, banging her fist against the wall
- Wait, you and those abominations are stuck there? Smithy asked, his eyes widening
- I see this one's not quite smart, Snickered Amber as she shook her head
By tapping his foot and clearing his throat loudly, Isaac managed to get the attention of everyone. Embarrassed, they looked at him with sheepish expressions, waiting for him to speak.
- We have a serious problem right now. He signaled while crossing his arms
- What? Reflected Kiara, Our obvious lack of communication? The lack of common sense? Because if some of them are useless, it's easy to eliminate them, like in the movies Hunger Games!
Desperate, the young boy shook his head. Visibly, it would be difficult to speak to everyone at the same time if they were too busy insulting each other. Mostly when they come from different dimensions.
And they didn't want the parents to surprise them.
As he was about to share his opinion to the group, a loud grunt was heard in the manor. Their throats tightened. They were rotten, rotten to the core.
The Wendigo found them.
