'Nice to meet you Parker. We are really sorry for scaring you like that'
'Yeah... sorry. I didn't mean to, uh.. well... do what I did.' Guess he didn't want to say, 'sorry I threw you out'
'You always had a way with words' the nicer guy, Devin, told him, poking his ribs with his elbow
'I kinda freaked out seeing someone on the bed' he said as he sat down. Clyde led me to the bed as well, lifting me up and setting me down onto that cloudy thing. We all took our seats. Eddie sat in the middle, Clyde sat next to him, and I sat between both and a little behind. I felt better like that. Safer. Even if there was no danger
Devin and Fabian were sitting infront of us with Devin in the middle as well, almost infront of Eddie
'I mean... don't you remember that homeless man sneaking here before? He made himself all comfortable on the bed after taking all of the fridge out.' All the guys laughed at that
'Of course I remember. It was such a mess' Eddie laughed. 'But still, you need to talk to me before you decide to do stuff on your own. Is that clear?' He asked in a stern voice I've never heard before
Not even from my dad. Maybe because he used more of his hands and painful words. Yeah... probably that
'Yes boss!' They both saluted
'Good.' He seemed satisfied with the answer. 'You can go now and come tomorrow again to visit your new friend. Work as usual'
The three of us looked at each other when he said friend. They smiled softly but I hid behind Clyde. I heard a few chuckles
'Aww, come on little man' Eddie whined, tickling me with both of his hands. I couldn't help but yelp and burst into a fit of laughters
'Nooo... Ahahah! Stooop' I breathed out. He finally let go of me and I snatched a pillow from behind him, hitting him repeatedly on his shoulder, not on his head cause even if it's soft, I didn't want to accidently hurt him
After one more time of hitting him, I put the pillow under my head and plopped on the bed, I was starting to get tired and that bed felt like a cloud
'Oop' Fabian said, jumping from the bed. 'Work's over and dear ol' ma's starting to get worried. Ugh..'
'Be grateful you have someone to worry about you' I heard Eddie say in low voice. Even with my eyes closed I could feel their stares on me
'Of course. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming but I swear I'm grateful' he said, his voice low as well
'See you tomorrow, guys' Devin said. They exchanged their goodbyes and the door to my right, the one leading to inside the restaurant, I figured, was opened then closed
Warm hands were caressing my back and hair. 'Let's get you some food and then you can have a warm bath' Eddie offered. 'Yeah? How does that sound? Mh?' He asked in a motherly voice. I just hummed, not positive nor negitive and pressed closer to him
He kept caressing me soothingly and I sighed. The door opened again and I heard Clyde's voice, he and Eddie exchanged a few words and the bed deeped a bit as Clyde claimed his seat once again. There was suddenly a very nice smell of food. I kept my eyes closed, inhaling the heavenly smell
Parker is a boy. Just a teenage boy.
But despite being 'just a teenage boy',
he experienced some things in life that
most teenage boys don't. After being kind of
kicked out of his house, he stumbled upon a
restaurant. Staying in the dark alley through
the night might've been scary, but it was the
best decision of his life that lead him to people
who made him feel belong.
