Alec grabbed onto the door handle and slammed the door in Eve’s face.
“Ross??” He whisper-screamed, “Did that ghost take my form when it talked to Eve?” Alec suddenly paused, realizing something. “Wait… But my brain doesn’t know what Ross looked like to Eve. So how is the figment of Eve in my memory reacting like this?
“Ross?” Eve pounded on the door, she sounded confused.
“My name isn’t Ross!” Alec yelled without thinking, the loud knocking ceased and Alec froze. Was this the demon-ghost? Did he just upset it enough for it to kill him?
“Open the door.” Eve’s voice sounded gruffer than normal, Alec’s eyes widened fearfully as he sat down against the door. When he was scared, Alec had a habit of sitting against the nearest vertical surface.
“Open the door.. Please?” Eve sounded desperate.
Jeff, a ginger cat that Eve had loved a lot, decided that it was a good time to strut up to Alec and meow in his face.
“Is that a cat I’m hearing?” Eve inquired and Jeff meowed loudly in response, Alec winced. “Ross, or whoever you are, I don’t have any cats.”
“I’m not Ross, and I have cats.” Alec decided to reply after a minute, if he was going to die anyway, he might as well figure out what the Eve look-alike was trying to do. He slowly stood up and creaked the door open a smidgeon.
The Eve double looked incredibly baffled, her soft brown eyes focused on the floor as she fiddled with her pink hair.
