Minjun carefully dressed in his new butler uniform, making sure every detail was perfect. He checked his reflection in the mirror, adjusting his tie and smoothing out any wrinkles. Satisfied with his appearance, he took a deep breath and left the room, ready to start his first day.
Uncertain of where he should go first, Minjun wandered down a random hallway, taking in the grandeur of the mansion. The hallways seemed to stretch on endlessly, each turn revealing more of the estate's elegance. Eventually, he found himself in the staff room, where a maid and a cook were sitting and conversing. The maid, a young woman with a kind smile, noticed him first.
"Ah, you must be the new butler," she said warmly. "I'm Hana, and this is our chef, Kenji."
Kenji, a burly man with a friendly demeanor, nodded in greeting. "Welcome, Minjun. It's good to have you on board."
Minjun smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thank you. I'm still finding my way around, so I hope you don't mind me wandering in."
Hana chuckled softly. "Not at all. Everyone gets lost in here at some point. Why don't you join us? Feel free to ask us any questions you may have." She gestured to an empty chair next to them.
Kenji nodded in agreement. "Yeah, take a seat. We're all part of the same team here, and we're happy to help you settle in."
Minjun gratefully took a seat, feeling a mix of relief and curiosity. "Thank you. I guess the first thing I'd like to know is what a typical day looks like here."
Hana smiled. "Well, it can vary, but generally, we start early. The butler handles a lot of different tasks—running errands, assisting Mr. Sato, coordinating with the rest of the staff. It's a busy role, but also rewarding."
Kenji chimed in. "And if you ever need a snack or a meal, don't hesitate to ask. I take pride in making sure everyone is well-fed."
Minjun couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie forming. "I appreciate that. It's good to know that we all support each other."
Hana nodded. "Absolutely. We're a team, and we want you to feel comfortable here. Do you have any other questions?"
Minjun hesitated for a moment, then decided to ask a question that had been on his mind. "Actually, can you tell me a bit more about Mr. Sato?"
Hana and Kenji exchanged a knowing glance before Hana spoke. "Mr. Sato is an exceptional boss. He's fair, understanding, and values everyone's contributions. He worked hard to get where he is today and has a lot of respect for people who show dedication."
Kenji nodded in agreement. "He's also quite private, but he's very attentive to detail and has high expectations. If you do your best, you'll earn his respect and trust."
Minjun listened intently, feeling a sense of admiration for Haruto. "It's good to know that he's supportive. I'll do my best to meet his expectations."
Hana smiled. "You'll do great, Minjun. Mr. Sato wouldn't have chosen you if he didn't believe in your potential."
As they continued to chat, Minjun felt a growing sense of belonging. This was his new home, and he was determined to make the most of it.
Just as Minjun was starting to feel more at ease, a thought occurred to him. "What happened to the previous butler?"
Hana's expression faltered for a moment before she replied. "The previous butler retired. He'd been with the Sato family for many years and decided it was time to take a well-deserved rest."
Kenji nodded. "He was very respected and left big shoes to fill, but we're confident you'll do great, Minjun."
Minjun felt a mix of relief and apprehension. He was stepping into a role with a lot of history, but he was determined to do his best.
