"Wow" Percy said, eyes wide with appreciation. "This looks amazing."
Davin nodded in agreement, his mouth already watering. "Yeah."
They all sat down around the table, their excitement to share the meal and conversation was palpable.
As they started serving themselves, the atmosphere grew even more relaxed. The food was as delicious as it looked, and the conversation continued to flow. They talked about their favorite foods, their hobbies, and even their hopes for the future.
"Percy" Enzo said after a while. "Tell us more about how you and Davin met."
Percy smiled, glancing at Davin. "Well, we've known each other since we were babies. Our families were close, and we just naturally became best friends. We've been through everything together."
Davin nodded, a fond look in his eyes. "Yeah, Percy has always been there for me, no matter what. We've had our ups and downs, but we've always stuck together."
Craig smiled. "It's clear you two have a strong bond. That's important in a pack."
Enzo agreed. "Yes, it's something we value highly. Loyalty, trust, and mutual support are the foundations of our pack."
Percy and Davin exchanged a glance, feeling some kind of connection to Enzo and Craig. It was clear that they shared the same values and beliefs, making them feel even more at home.
As the dinner went on, the conversation took a lighter turn, with jokes and laughter filling the room. Percy and Davin found themselves relaxing even more, feeling like they were among friends rather than strangers.
After they finished eating, Enzo and Craig insisted on cleaning up, allowing Percy and Davin to continue chatting at the table.
"Those two are something" Davin said, leaning back in his chair. "I never expected to feel so at ease here."
Percy nodded. "Me neither. It's like we fit right in." He smiled. "Makes me not miss home so much..."
"Percy.." Davin's voice was remprimanding. In a way.
"What?"
Davin sighed but shook his head with a smile. "You already know that all too well."
When the kitchen was clean, Enzo and Craig rejoined them at the table, bringing a pot of freshly brewed tea, some homemade cookies, and a big plate of various fruits.
"Thought we could use a little something sweet and light to end the meal" Enzo said, pouring the tea into four handmade clay cups.
They all took a moment to savor the warm, soothing tea and the delicious cookies, snacking on the fruits here and there. The relaxed, intimate setting made it easy to continue their conversations, delving deeper into their lives and experiences.
"...and Percy refused to let it go!"
All of them burst out laughing. Davin just told them about how Percy once took an egg from a fridge and insisted on keeping it, thinking that with enough love and care, the egg was going to turn into a yellowish, fluffy little fledgling.
Enzo was the first to come around. "You actually thought it was going to hatch?"
Percy threw his arms in the air. "I was SMOL."
The alpha raised a brow, smirking. "That's still hilarious."
"Mmph. Hey Craig" Percy called, catching the beta's attention. "Tell me something embarassing that Enzo did when he was young."
The alpha's amused smile erased, switching with a grim expression. There was still amusement present in his eyes though, so Craig knew it was okay to speak.
He shrugged. "He still does embarrassing stuff to this day. So I need you to be more.. specific."
Percy chuckled. "Okay, that's already funny–WOAH!" He yelped when he was snatched back by his waist.
When he opened his eyes, he wished he hadn't.
