Minjun couldn't stop replaying Haruto's words in his mind: "You would have to move into the mansion." It was a statement that held so much weight, promising both opportunity and uncertainty. As he stood there, lost in thought, he felt a gentle touch on his shoulder. He looked up to see Haruto, his piercing blue eyes filled with kindness and understanding.
"Are you alright, Minjun?" Haruto's deep, velvety voice pulled him back to the present.
Minjun nodded, though his heart was still racing. "Yes, just... processing everything. It's a lot to take in."
Haruto's smile was reassuring. "I understand. Change can be overwhelming, but I believe you'll find your place here." He gestured for Minjun to follow him. "Let me show you to your living quarters."
As they walked through the elegant hallways, Minjun's nerves began to settle. The mansion was even more impressive up close, each corner filled with history and grandeur. Haruto led him to a spacious room, beautifully decorated with a perfect blend of modern and classic elements.
"This will be your room," Haruto said, opening the door and stepping inside. "I hope you find it comfortable."
Minjun looked around, taking in the luxurious surroundings. "It's amazing," he said softly. "Thank you."
He smiled at Minjun, his dimples adding a touch of warmth to his authoritative presence. "You can take the rest of the day to go home and pack your belongings. I'll send a car to pick you up in the morning."
"Thank you, Haruto," Minjun replied, feeling a mix of gratitude and excitement.
As Haruto began walking Minjun to the door, they were suddenly interrupted by the sound of tiny paws skittering across the polished floor. A small dog darted into the hallway, moving so quickly that Minjun barely had time to react. The dog brushed past his legs, causing him to lose his balance and stumble forward.
Minjun collided with Haruto, his hands instinctively reaching out to steady himself. Haruto caught him effortlessly, their faces inches apart. For a brief moment, Minjun was acutely aware of Haruto's piercing blue eyes and the warmth of his touch.
"Are you alright?" Haruto asked, his voice gentle.
Minjun quickly regained his footing, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Y-yes, I'm fine. I'm s-so sorry about that."
Haruto's smile returned, even more charming than before. "No harm done. It seems Coco was just excited to meet you." He glanced down at the little dog, who was now wagging its tail happily.
Minjun couldn't help but smile at the unexpected turn of events. "Hello, Coco," he said, crouching down to pet the dog.
Haruto chuckled softly. "Coco usually has a good sense of people. It looks like you've already made a friend."
As they continued toward the door, Minjun felt a newfound sense of belonging. The mansion, and everyone in it, was beginning to feel a little more like home.
Minjun returned home with a whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind. He began packing his belongings, folding clothes and sorting through his possessions. The reality of moving into the mansion was sinking in, and with it came a mix of excitement and nervousness.
By the time 5 PM rolled around, Minjun was exhausted. He decided to take a break, sinking into his worn-out sofa and closing his eyes for a moment. However, his mind refused to quiet down. His thoughts kept wandering back to that moment in the mansion—when he lost his balance and found himself inches away from Haruto's face.
"Why am I thinking about this so much?" Minjun muttered to himself, shaking his head. "It was just an accident."
He replayed the scene over and over again, Haruto's piercing blue eyes, the warmth of his touch, and that charming, dimpled smile. Minjun could feel the heat rising in his cheeks as he thought about it. "Get a grip, Minjun," he told himself, trying to push the thoughts aside. "You have a job to focus on."
Minjun sighed and resumed packing, but the image of Haruto's face kept intruding. "Why did that moment affect me so much?" he wondered aloud. "It's not like I haven't been close to someone before."
The thought nagged at him, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and embarrassment. "Great," he sighed. "Just what I needed—more things to overthink."
As he placed the last of his clothes into his suitcase, Minjun took a deep breath and resolved to face whatever came his way with determination and an open heart. "This is your chance, Minjun," he said softly to himself. "Don't let it slip away."
A sudden fantasy popped into his head—an image of Haruto's piercing blue eyes gazing into his, their faces inches apart. The thought of Haruto's warm touch and charming smile made Minjun blush like crazy. He shook his head, trying to dispel the image, but the heat in his cheeks remained.
"Why am I thinking about this?" Minjun muttered to himself, feeling flustered. "I'm not even gay, so why is this affecting me so much?"
He sighed, trying to focus on the task at hand. "Get it together, Minjun. You have a job to do."
Despite his efforts to push the thoughts aside, the memory of that moment with Haruto lingered in his mind, leaving him both confused and intrigued.
