'Let me see that smile' he chuckled, holding my face in his palms once again but that time he gave a warm, gentle kiss to the top of my head
'I barely know you.. but you are the nicest person I've ever met... Thank you'
'You're welcome, Angel' he sniffed
'That's not my name'
'I know' he chuckled. 'But you are a little angel that I found and I'm going to keep you safe, if you'll let me'
My eyes watered at his words. That was so warming but at the same time it was terrifying. What if all of it was just a sick dream? What if I'll wake up in the house I lived in all this time?
And even if it is true, what if it wouldn't last for long? What if something will happen?
'Parker!' I flinched, looking up at the man to see him staring at me, worriedly. He was worried but he just yelled at me. Why?
I could feel my lip tremble a bit and he immediately hugged me to him. 'Shhh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to yell but you were out of it. What's wrong?'
What's wrong? Umm... Just about everything in the world right now
He scoffed at his own question. 'Puh... sorry. That was a very stupid question. I'm sorry'
'It's okay' I whispered. He hummed, not agreeably though. I could hear the tone he did it with. That was more like 'Bullshit'
'You can rest now' he said as his fingers were combed through my hair. I found out he liked to do it and I enjoyed it just as much
I snuggled into him and sighed contently. My stomach was full. Someone was holding me in his arms, caring for me and making sure I wasn't hungry. I would lie if I said I didn't like being babied like that. I was pretty damn happy right now
Not even the door opening and the two other men entering, could have ruined it. What did ruin my mood a bit though, was the doctor's words
'Is that all he ate? That's not much. Maybe you should force him to eat a bit more?' Force? What am I? A dog?
'Hey, come on, he ate very good, at least he ate something.' Eddie came to the rescue
'Well, yeah... I guess so. I guess I used a little too harsh word' he laughed apologetically. 'Okay,' he clapped his hands again, gentler that time and I smiled internally. 'I think it's time for me to go. If there are any complications just come to the hospital. I'll most likely be there' he sighed
'Busy week?' Eddie asked. His chest rumbled when he spoke and that somehow was soothing
'Yeah..' the doctor sighed again. As they were exchanging a few words, I suddenly felt a non familiar hand carressing my hair. I opened my eyes and Clyde was quick to retract his hand, probably thinking it bothered me but it was really nice
I reached my hand to his, taking his wrist and caressing my own head with it. I repeated the move a few times until he did it on his own. I enjoyed being petted like that. Does that meant I am a dog after all?
Hehe
A small smile broke on my lips and Eddie cooed. I really liked those 'Awww's' he made
Parker is a boy. Just a teenage boy.
But despite being 'just a teenage boy',
he experienced some things in life that
most teenage boys don't. After being kind of
kicked out of his house, he stumbled upon a
restaurant. Staying in the dark alley through
the night might've been scary, but it was the
best decision of his life that lead him to people
who made him feel belong.
