We ran around for ages. The only reason we stopped chasing each other inside the shop was when we both slammed into a rack of packaged pens, pencils, erasers and scissors. The scissors were up front and w almost got cut so we decided to stop playing tag in the shop but to play all down the streets. I even forgot how hot Xander was while I ran. I was surprised how there was barely any traffic in fact there was barely any cars at all!
Eventually Xander and I had made it to a random house.
"Hey um wait what was your name again?" Oh shit I had completely forgotten to tell Xander my name!
"It's Alex!" I reply.
"Nice, uh well Alex come in I'd like you to meet someone!" Xander beamed, for a second there I was thinking like 'is this guy like a pedo or something?' Then I remembered that we were the same age and forgot all about it. Still something didn't sit right. I just knew there was something the he was hiding.
As I walked in I smelted something, something yummy, cookies. Two people walked out of what looked like the kitchen. A girl with long blonde hair, a mini skirt, and a crop top. And the other person was a boy, he looked similar to Xander but he was a lot taller. The tall guy was helping the girl hold a hot pan of cookies.
"Oh hi Xander how was work?" The tall boy asked.
"Uh it was pretty bad not gonna lie, it was a ton better once my friend Alex came." Xander replied.
"AMAZING!" The girl yelled as she handed the tin to the boy. She ran over to Xander, and she... she kissed him. I felt my heart shatter in my chest.
"Hi babe." Xander smiled at her as he said it. I reached into my pocket to realise it was really late. I thought I should probably go, but just then the girl pulled my arm and hugged me.
"Hi! I'm Avery!" She shone.
"Oh uh hi I'm Alex." I said awkwardly. Then the tall guy started to talk.
"Hello I'm Sam." I recognised the name from Xanders name badge.
"Hi." I replied.
"Want a cookie!" Avery asked as she grabbed the tray and held it ou the cookies. I nodded and took the smallest one I could see. I shoved the cookie in my face and then quickly stated that I had to go because my brother would be waiting for me.
I ran out of the house as fast as I could with Xander yelling that I could come back any time. I knew I wasn't going to be visiting again any time soon. As I dashed back to the inn I noticed tears slowly rolling down my cheeks. I wiped my eyes and rushed into room 28 to find James and Charlie waiting on the floor, it looked like they had been talking for a while. As I slammed the door shut they both invited me to sit in between them when they saw the tears.
"Hey, hey Al what's up?" James asked concerned.
"W-w-well y-you g-g-guys we're-re like like k-kissi-ng and I w-went t-to a sh-sh-shop and and-" My face was like a river of tears.
"Hey Alex c'mere." Charlie said as the two hugged me.
"Slow down, just breathe don't worry we're here we'll help you, we swear. Right Char?" James told me.
"100 percent." Charlie replied. It wasn't much but their mere presence was comforting so the words of encouragement really helped.
Together we did those awkward breathing technique thingys you learn in school but rarely use. I was actually really surprised it even worked! After I could actually breathe properly the boys asked me again what was wrong and so of course I told them.
