Two women stood outside of the building. The dark-haired woman named Violet had her face pressed against the window trying to look inside.
"I can't see anything!" she exclaimed disappointed, "I told you you should have called or sent a message.”
The much taller woman next to her, Nathalie, rolled her eyes at the dig. She knew that her girlfriend was right, but she wouldn’t admit to it.
"She must be in there!" Nathalie knocked on the door for the tenth time, "Alma, open up!" and like the previous times, there was no answer.
"I think we should come back later…" Violet suggested as she got off of the porch.
"I can't believe she’d buy this place to be slacking off like this!" Nathalie looked up at the window above "ALMA! I know you're there!"
"Actually, I'm behind you.” Alma replied.
The two women jumped into each other’s arms, Violet screaming a bit while Natalie snorted out an adorable raspy yelp.
"AH! There you are. I thought you gave up on the shop", Nat called out crossing her arms, pretending like she hadn’t been jumpscared as she fixed her hair.
Raphael- Alma gasped "I would never!!" The angel took her rattling keys out from her purse and walked to the door "I made the promise I would take great care of it and I’m not planning to break it anytime soon" she reassured as the shop was opened.
They all entered the record store one by one. The first notable thing were the plants: they were everywhere! Gorgeous and vibrant, yet skillfully layed out to not overwhelm customers. The women looked in awe, the natural light that entered the windows they had peeked through earlier gave everything a cozy and almost dreamy feeling.
The albums were in neat order too, there wasn’t any sign of dust on either the covers or the shelves. Alma had really kept this place in great condition, it seemed well loved and taken care of, and was that-
"Is that incense?" Violet asked, pointing at the smoky essence.
"It’s one of my favorites... Sandalwood!" Alma replied, presenting a box of it. "Want a package? I have so many.”
"If you don't mind~”
"Not at all! But before that..." Alma spread her arms out and gave the couple a big hug "Oh! Is been such long time, my dears"
They returned the hug with a smile, having missed their quirky friend as well. The angel released them, guiding them to the back of the store "What brings you here?"
"We just wanted to check out the place." Nathalie said nonchalantly.
"Our thirtieth anniversary is coming soon and we wanted to take a little tour-" the bubbly woman stopped in her tracks as soon as she noticed the Blondie collection. "Oh! May I?!" She asked excitedly, already making her way over.
The angel chuckled at her friend. "Check anything you want, but please continue".
Violet started browsing the various albums. "A tour of every important location to our relationship, so this place is at the top of our list!"
"Kinda corny, but everything for mi flor" Nathalie smiled gesturing to her lady.
"Ugh, I shouldn't have taught you any Spanish, and the tour was your idea, mi luz" Violet retrieved one of the records.
"And our anniversary is next year" Nathalie looked at her pointedly with an accusatory eyebrow.
"If you want a proper tour then we have to start now or my lovely cousin will kill us."
"La pagana? Now that you mention her..." Nat looked back at Alma. "Want to go to our wedding?"
Violet hopped in place, hands clasping together. "Yes! It's only symbolic, a small thing really, but we would love to have you there."
"You've helped us a lot and we're so grateful, it’s only fair" Nathalie put her arm around her fiancée’s waist. “If you’d like, of course.”
Alma smiled widely, her hands resting on her chest at the heartwarming display.
"Oh... It would be a total honor."
