Once it was all settled, they decided to enjoy their morning. The alpha and his beta led the two boys –that had their arms linked together– to the big garden that viewed the enormous surroundings of the woods, the faraway mountains, and they even could see the skies that seemed to have no end.
The garden was a vast, lush expanse, teeming with vibrant flowers and towering trees. The scent of blossoms filled the air, and birds chirped melodiously from their perches. It was a peaceful, almost magical place that seemed worlds apart from their home that was within the loud city. The boys were stunned.
As they walked, the alpha pointed out various features of the garden, explaining its history and the care that went into maintaining it. Percy and Davin listened intently, their eyes wide with wonder.
"This place is incredible" Davin said, his voice full of awe.
"It's like a totally different place" Percy added. "I feel like I could get lost in it forever."
"You wouldn't be the first" the alpha replied with a grin. "It's a favorite spot for many in our pack."
Craig nodded. "It's where we come to relax and clear our minds. There's something about being surrounded by nature that just makes everything else fade away."
Davin smiled, squeezing Percy's arm. "I'm glad we get to see this. It's like a little piece of paradise."
"Yeah... I've always seen those skies. But that," he gestured with his arms around the place "just feels -so- different."
Enzo and Craig switched looks, amused by the boy's excitement.
They continued their tour, taking in the breathtaking views and enjoying the serenity of the garden. The conversation flowed easily, with laughter and light-hearted banter filling the air.
As they reached a particularly beautiful spot by a sparkling pond, the alpha turned to the boys. "This is one of my favorite places" he said softly. "It's where I come to think, to find peace."
Percy and Davin looked around, taking in the tranquil scene. The pond was surrounded by willow trees, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. The water were so clear that they could see the fish swimming below the surface.
"It's beautiful" Davin said, his voice filled with reverence.
Percy nodded in agreement. He looked up to Enzo. "I can see why you love it here."
The alpha smiled. "I'm glad you two like it.
They continued walking a bit more until Percy's stomach twisted and he -craved- for something to eat. It was already late afternoon, drifting into the evening. The time passed so fast without any of them noticing. He tugged on Davin's arm that was still linked with his own.
Davin turned his attention to him.
"Hey, Sis, are you as hungry as I am?" He asked.
Davin did not need to think about it much. "Yesss. -Starving- actually."
"I'm starting to get hungry as well" Craig added.
The alpha clapped his hands together. "Alright! Let's all go and get something to eat then."
They made their way to the alpha's home. Entering through the open gate into the garden that was connected to the house, they entered through the door.
The alpha told Percy and Davin to take a seat. The two boys settled next to each other on the high chairs at the kitchen island.
Percy was a bit confused when Enzo started taking dishes out of the cabinets and Craig took groceries out of the refrigerator.
He didn't think about who was going to cook the food that they were going to eat, but he certainly did not have the alpha or the beta in mind.
Percy glanced over at Davin, who seemed equally perplexed but also intrigued. They both watched as Enzo and Craig moved with practiced ease around the kitchen. Their muscular frames contrasted with the delicate movements of preparing the meal, creating a fascinating juxtaposition.
"You two.. cook?" He finally asked.
Enzo nodded. "Indeed. Surprised?" He caught Percy's eye as he chopped vegetables with swift, precise motions.
Percy nodded, unable to hide his amazement. "I didn't expect the alpha and beta of a pack to be the ones cooking our late brunch."
The alpha raised a brow. "Who did you thought was going to do it? My little helpers? I am no Santa" he laughed. He put the chopped vegetables into a bowl. "We all have our talents. Cooking happens to be one of mine."
Craig grinned as he seasoned a piece of meat. "And I help keep him company. Plus, it means we get to eat well."
Davin leaned over to Percy, whispering. "I think I'm starting to like this place more and more."
Percy smiled, feeling a warm sense of belonging. The casual, familial atmosphere was a pleasant surprise.
It wasn't long before the kitchen was filled with the mouth-watering aromas of their meal. The boys continued to watch, occasionally asking questions about the recipes and techniques Enzo and Craig used.
As the preparations went on, the conversation flowed naturally.
Enzo and Craig shared stories about their experiences leading the pack, the challenges they faced, and the close-knit bonds they had formed over the years. Percy and Davin listened intently, occasionally sharing bits about their own lives.
