As they passed through HighQ LowC’s doors, the Braw Agents entered the car park with Beth. She led them to her vehicle, which was a standard black car. “Thanks for letting us come to your house,” commented Bobby, as Beth was loading her groceries into the car boot. “No problem,” replied Beth. When everyone was getting in the car, a major problem came to their attention. Beth’s car only had five seats while seven people had to be transported to Beth’s house. “Who wants to walk?” asked Edward. “I think you and I should,” answered Rita. “We’re the athletic ones.” “Alright, race you down there,” replied Edward.
In the car, Bobby was co-pilot, Narvy, Hannah and Elsa were passengers in the back seat, and Beth was ready to drive her fully occupied car. Before she could back out of the parking lot, Edward approached her. “So, what’s your address?” he asked. “Forty-seven Eanfur Street,” answered Beth. “The brick house with violets outside.” With everyone safely buckled in, Beth drove off, leaving Edward and Rita in the parking lot. “Bet you won’t get there before me,” boasted Edward confidently. “Ha, in your dreams,” replied Rita smugly. Just then, the two of them noticed a bus arriving at the stop near HighQ LowC. “Maybe, we don’t have to run,” suggested Edward. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” asked Rita, as she grabbed her snapper card.
Meanwhile, the others had arrived at 47 Eanfur Street. For Beth, it was just an ordinary return home after a supermarket shop. For Bobby, it was like visiting a familiar place after several years. As for Narvy, Hannah and Elsa, it was like arriving in a foreign place to them. Everyone got out of the car, and as soon as Beth unlocked the door, Bobby made an announcement. “Before I tell you my story from yesterday, I’d like to wait for Edward and Rita to arrive.” “That’s fine,” replied Beth. “Can you help me unpack my groceries in the meantime?” “Of course I can,” replied Bobby.
Beth’s house was truly one of a kind. It was like walking into the Department of Valuable Artefacts. But unlike that place, the items in Beth’s house looked homely and cool instead of mysterious and creepy. Her lounge was full of her treasures. In that room alone she had various vases, a fern, a porcelain fish, and a lava lamp. “Your lounge is so crowded,” Elsa examined. Beth chuckled as she unpacked her groceries with Bobby. “That’s what my two daughters say,” she replied. “I have a habit of collecting things.”
Meanwhile, Bobby was unpacking the final grocery bag. At the moment he least expected it, Edward and Rita arrived at the house and entered it. “You two got here fast,” exclaimed Bobby in surprise. “We took the bus,” explained Edward. “Oh, well that explains it,” replied Bobby, as he placed a loaf of bread into the fridge. Just then, Beth checked her bags to see if she had left anything in them. “Alright, everything’s been unpacked,” announced Beth. “I’m ready to hear your story, Bobby.”
Bobby, Edward, Rita, and Beth left the kitchen and went into the lounge, even though they were both part of the same room. Everyone sat down on the couches and began the conversation. “So, Bobby, why did you go to the Trooth Booth?” asked Beth. “Remember the incident that happened yesterday?” asked Bobby. “Yes,” replied Beth. “Well, I formed a crime-fighting group with my friends called the Braw Agents,” explained Bobby. “The whole reason we went to the Trooth Booth is because we found something weird yesterday,” explained Hannah. “Interesting. What was it?” asked Beth. “It was a Maioura Blade,” explained Hannah. “Apparently, there’s two other blades and the three of them can be merged into one blade.” “I’m eager to fight some more stone warriors and get the Maioura Blades away from them,” claimed Bobby. “Even though things didn’t go well yesterday.”
Beth was intrigued by what Bobby said. “How did things go wrong?” she asked. “I formed the Braw Agents in an effort to stop the threat,” explained Bobby. “Yet we didn’t come close to stopping any threat and all we did was get beaten up.” Bobby went on to further explain the situation. “Granted, we are not experienced fighters, and we got our weapons from that dingy shop, but still …”
Beth thought this would be a great time to give Bobby some advice. “Bobby, if you want to become a good fighter, you just have to practise,” explained Beth. “I used to be a nurse at Fluvaria Hospital, but to get that position, I had to study, practise and get better at what I’m passionate about.” Bobby felt inspired by Beth’s words. “The same goes for my husband,” claimed Beth. “I’ll call him over now.”
But there was no need for Beth to call him as Oliver walked into the kitchen. He was a bald old man with a short silver beard. He had olive green eyes and wore a grey sweatshirt, mahogany-brown vest, black pants, and brown shoes. “Beth, who are these people?” asked Oliver. “You didn’t inform me that visitors had come.” “This is Bobby,” answered Beth. “He’s the son of my friend Natasha. He made a crime-fighting team with his friends and now I’m explaining to him how practise makes perfect.” Oliver seemed intrigued. “I see,” he replied. “Can you tell him about your progression as an artist?” asked Beth. So, Oliver went on to tell Bobby about his artistic journey. “Bobby, I used to be an art teacher at Fluvaria College,” explained Oliver. “But I wasn’t always worthy of that career, in fact my earliest paintings looked like trash.” Bobby had already felt inspired by Beth’s speech, but Oliver’s one just pushed that spark further. Oliver continued, “But I was passionate about art, so I just kept trying until I became a professional artist.”
At that moment, Narvy remembered the low quality weapons that he and the other Braw Agents got from the disgusting weapons shop. This led to him getting an idea. “What kind of art do you do?” asked Narvy. “I make paintings and sculptures. Back then I taught those things to many students,” answered Oliver. Narvy became extremely interested in the part involving sculptures. “What are your sculptures made out of?” he asked. “I can make sculptures out of soap, clay and wood,” answered Oliver. “I’ve also made stone sculptures, but I haven’t made any of those in a long time.” “Perfect,” replied Narvy. “I’m skilled with robotics and metalwork, so we should combine our skills to make weapons.”
Oliver didn’t have the context Beth did, so he was slightly confused with Narvy’s request. “Why do you want to make weapons?” he asked. “Because we’re a crime-fighting team,” answered Narvy. “We’re going to need weapons, if we want to stop a threat to Fluvaria.” Oliver finally made sense of the conversation. “Very well,” replied Oliver. “I have many supplies in the shed. It’s a very spacious room, perfect for making crafts, if you ask me.”
The Braw Agents were quick to thank Oliver. They all trouped out of the house and followed him to the shed. It was a rather old looking place, but it had everything the Braw Agents were looking for, particularly Narvy. There were many boxes of steel, wood, and paint. Oliver approached the table in the middle of the shed with Narvy. “What kind of weapons do you want to make?” asked Oliver. Narvy knew he wanted a crossbow, but he wasn’t sure about the desires of his friends, so he asked them. It turned out that the Braw Agents would have liked the exact weapons they got from the shop, had they been better made and more pleasant to the eye. After gathering that important piece of information, Narvy built the weapons alongside Oliver. Several hours of wood carving, steel forging and painting commenced. But in the end, everyone had a good weapon to proudly own.
Bobby had a double-ended spear, with a black handle and red blades. Narvy had a black crossbow with a blue string. Unlike his previous one, it actually shot the handmade yellow arrows with consistently good results. Hannah was now the proud owner of a white hammer with a red head and yellow faces. Edward and Rita had gauntlets similar to those from the weapon shop, however, they were much more pristine and had blue and purple streaks to tell them apart. As for Elsa, she received an elegant machete with a dark green handle. She hadn’t thought about the hypothetical weapon show since the day prior, however, her machete would probably be eligible for some of the awards. This wasn’t everything that Narvy and Oliver made together. Oliver ended up enjoying the weapon crafting so much, that he made a silver Bo staff for himself, and a brown leather whip for Beth.
“Thanks for the weapons,” commented Bobby. “It was your friend’s idea,” replied Oliver. “Thank him.” Beth raised her elbow and parked it on Oliver’s shoulder. “Honey, you deserve some credit too, you did half of the work,” commented Beth. The Braw Agents were ready to leave Beth’s home. “Okay Beth, we’re leaving now, enjoy the rest of your day,” announced Bobby. “Bye Bobby, I hope things go well for you,” called Beth, as the Braw Agents walked through the door. Beth watched as Bobby walked down the driveway and across the footpath of Eanfur Street with his friends. She didn’t know how the Braw Agents were going to spend the rest of the day, but she had faith that they were going to become a successful crime fighting team.
