Achak sat back as he began his tell on how he met Damian. “Sit back, cat, and listen to this tale”he said.
*********Flashback 17 years ago***********
Achak, also known as Goliath, was known as the right hand of the God of Darkness Oberon. In the upper realms, he had taken on the form of a worthy form of a wolf pup to seek out the next dark mage. He was going to find someone he deemed strong enough to handle the job. Goliath had spent weeks looking for someone strong enough to handle the title of dark mage. So far he had found abysmal results; they were all cowards in one way or another. Goliath was starting to get worried that he would have to wait longer to find the dark mage. Then a truly terrifying idea crossed his mind: what if that Chessur found the light mage before he could find the dark mage? It would bring shame to himself if that blasted bastard found the light mage before he could find the dark mage. He'd never heard the end of it. Goliath shook his head, trying to rid himself of that horrifying thought. ‘No, no, I'll find the dark mage before that bastard can find the light mage, he thought as he continued on his search for the dark mage.
It took months until he stumbled upon an academy. He decided to sneak around to stake out the students to see if there was a standout among the group. That was when he found a boy with white hair and piercing red eyes. He had dark bags under his eyes. Goliath couldn't say there was anything really special about him; he was talented in magic and with the sword, but nothing Goliath would say made him stand out. He did find out a few things about the boy: first, he was the prince; second, his name was Damian; and third, he liked dogs, or in the case, a wolf pup.
Damian gave him the name Achak; however, he also noticed something else. All the other students stayed away from Damian except for one student. He seemed like, well, as Golithi would put it, he was rat-like, cowardly, scrawny, with messy, dull brown hair; his skin even had a gray tone to it; his name was Justin Woodstone.
Goliath thought despite his appearance Justian was a true friend until he overheard Justian talking to a few boys badmouthing Damian.
Goliath growled. He had grown attached to the boy, and now this backstabbing coward was talking about him behind his back and saying horrid things he was going to scare the boys. However, before he could scare the boy, Damian stopped him. “I’ll handle it, Achak,” he said as he walked over to the group of boys as he trapped them all into bubbles. Goliath watched in shock as they struggled in the bubble as Alexander glared. “Listen to me, you cowards; I am the future king of the country. If you have anything to say to me, then say it to my face,"he said as he closed his hands, making the bubbles shrink in size as the boys screamed and panicked.
Goliath watched in shock. This boy was ruthless, just the person he was looking for, but him killing six boys would dampen things as he trotted over to Damian as he nuzzled his side to calm him down.
Damian looked down as he looked at Goliath no Achak and took a deep breath as he popped the bubbles as the boys all hit the ground as Damian walked over to Justian as he glared down at the now sniveling boy. “We’re done,” he said as he walked away, Ackak trotting behind him as a black shadow slipped up the back of Damian’s shirt as two horns appeared protruding from his hair, then disappeared.
********end of flashback************
Goliath smirked as he looked at Chessur but was shocked when he saw the cat had a terrified look on his face. "What?” he asked clueless.
Chessur buried his face in his hand before looking up at Goliath. “You picked an attempted killer as the dark mage; how stupid are you?"he said as he snarled at Goliath.
Goliath looked at him in disbelief. "Me, what about you? You picked one of the weakest person in this entire kingdom; you're always so lazy,"he said as he scolded Chessur.
Chessur glared “You ridiculous wolf, say that one more time,” he said as he stood up.
Goliath smirked as he looked down at Chessur. “Bring it, Kitty,”he said, teasing the shorter man.
What insured next was a flurry of swear words flashing lights from spells. The next morning, when our heroes woke up, they found a certain cat missing a few patches of fur and a certain wolf covered in scratches and bite marks. This led to another argument between Alexander and Damian. “Look at what your mutt did to Ren,” Alexander fussed as he held Ren and glared at Damian. “One Achak is a wolf, and two fur grows back. Your fur ball used Achak as a scratching post and a chew toy," he said as he looked over his beloved wolf. The two guardians realize they may have made the chances of these two getting together were lower than it already was.
