This story is about people living in a big world where incredibly awful things have always existed. Like many stories, this planet was once in danger, and like in those stories, there were heroes whose destiny was to save it from chaos. But unlike your legend, they failed their quest, and the apocalypse starts bringing this world to an end.
However, civilization and peace were eventually restored by those with the desire and power to achieve them. But sadly people are people, and naturally, they end up doing stupid stuff, like starting wars that damage parts of the world and kill almost everyone again because they are slightly different than you. There are also monsters of course because life would be far too simple if there weren't.
It's a good thing that at least some folks try to take care of that mess. Heroes and villains, mercenaries and soldiers, we call them "Sentinels". Whatever for the best or worst they always are first when it comes to the stability of the world.
Here is the story of these characters, and believe me when I tell you that they are a bunch of weirdos.
Life is simple; it is we who make it complicated.
A boy was brooding at the reception of a shabby hotel. With luggage at his feet, he was waiting for the receptionist to give him the keys to a room. He ended up going to the counter and ringing the reception desk bell. An old guy with big tattooed arms dragged his feet and glared at the boy.
"I don't want to bother you, but I wanted to know if I could finally have a bed." The teenager asked, showing an irritated tone.
"I apologize," the receptionist responds, not convincingly. "Here, number 21, the smoke detector halfway works, but as long as you don't spontaneously combust, you'll be fine."
The boy took the key and picked up his luggage.
"I can't make that kind of promise." The old man seems to get even more tired."But I can at least try. Alika , we're going."
A salmon Bull terrier gets on all fours and yawns before following the teen heading upstairs. They arrive at number 21, turn the key, and walk in briskly. The moonlight illuminated a place large enough for one person. After putting down his luggage and checking that the room was more or less clean, he stretched out on his bed, looking at what was now his home.
"Living alone isn't that scary, well, mostly alone. Do you miss home?" She licks his nose. "Me neither, but I did say I would call when I arrive, but it is late... or early, what do you think?"
But the good doggy was already sleeping, so he turned on his phone.

Alex set his alarm and stared at the ceiling, without really being able to see it. He then stretched his arm in the air and concentrated on the sensations of his hand. A small spark began to emit from his finger. He closed and opened his fist, and suddenly, a small flame appeared in his palm.
"Hope all this isn't just a huge mistake." His arm fell on the mattress, and the small light flashed before going out. "I should enjoy those exhausting and calm nights as much as possible." Alex then closed his eyes and let the sleep do its stuff
On a road illuminated by broken street lamps, a blond girl whose height could be classed as 6th grade was trying to repair the not completely stolen car. She ended up figuring out it was missing a crucial item for continuing her journey: a spare tire.
The small repair woman gave a frustrated kick to the side of the car. "Fine, have it your way. I'm just gonna find something else to turn on."
The young girl retrieved her suitcase and was about to walk to the town. "May I be of help"? Lily was shocked by the sudden approach. "AAAAR!" She turned around, ready to throw hands, but one look at her interlocutor cut short any bloodlust.
She was tall- I mean not tall compared to Lili, regular tall, with mid-length hair color, blood, and what seemed to be a green faux leather jacket, which might mean something. "I could drive you to the city if that is your wish." Yep, she did have a motorcycle.
Lili's father would call her an idiot for following a stranger in their vehicle, but her grandma would call her a fool for not taking her chance of grabbing a knight in shining armor when she had the occasion.
In a dark and cold basement, someone in a gray welding mask was making sparks while fixing a high-tech thingy; no other sound or thought existed except the task in front of the young tinkerer.
On the opposite side, the roof, to be exact, was a girl with long dark pink hair. While looking at the moon, she pulled out her headset earphones and played her favorite soul music. After taking a deep breath of the cold night, she ended up declaring to no one but the sky. "Meh, could be better."
It was a calm night as they had before and would after, but like the other guy once said, "Awful things can begin and finish with nothing but silence."
Most first-time hunters experience a mix of excitement and nerves when standing at the edge of the wilderness with a weapon capable of subduing or killing prey.
The hunter: Alexander.
The weapon: sword
The prey: Small defenseless squirrel.
It may sound cruel to kill a weak-looking creature, but it wasn't a regular rodent, so he didn't underestimate his target. Alex's eyes dart around, scanning the trees and underbrush, their breath coming faster than usual. He shifted their weight, trying to stay silent but raised his sword but by doing so unintentionally snapping a twig.
The squirrel took notice and the two stared at each other, on the outside, he was as calm as can be but on the outside....
Don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic don't panic.
Yeah, he was panicked and fought the urge to cry, run, hide in a hole, and then cry some more. Instead, he used what little courage he had and lowered his weapon. But instead of making contact with the squirrel the blade got caught in a tree branch, leading to Alex slipping on a wet leaf and falling on his back. The sword fell perfectly upright in the dirt just a few inches near his head.
"Yep should have picked a shorter weapon." He turned his head and saw the animal was still there. "So no hard feelings right." He gave the little monster an I'm sooowy look, in the hope it won't attack.
It did not work.
The squire growls. Then it lunged.
Alex barely managed to throw up his arm before the beast’s teeth snapped inches from his face. He staggered, feeling claws rake against his jacket. The wild monster wasn’t just attacking—it was trying to rip his face off.
Alex threw it away, he heard it hit the ground, but it only seemed to enrage it.
He stumbles back to a tree. Nowhere to run.
The beast leaped again—this time aiming straight for his throat.
"SERIOUSLY, THAT HOW I'M DYING!!!"
But before Alex could ponder what they would write on his tombstone, the enraged monster, which would later be called the rodent of misery, was kicked away it flew high above the tree and disappeared into the sky. Alex has been saved by the one and only.
"Lili coatline is here, so don't worry a thing birdie." Unfortunately, the said birdie wouldn't thank her because he had fainted. "Passing out midway your first time that got to be embarrassing. Oh well, that sort of thing happens to the best of me, just got to get back on that horse and show it who the Bose is, you're with me?" He was still unconscious. " I'll wait for you to be awake before giving my full inspirational speech sound good. Good."
She sat next to Alex and rehearsed her speech for when he could appreciate it.
