I hunched over myself, as much as the armed men would allow me. My legs and my mind were telling me to run out of there, but luckily I still had some sanity left to know that that would be the worst thing I could try to do now.
—You're lucky that the candidates are few, otherwise I would have killed you already.
When she continued on her way I could breathe again. I felt my hands shaking and I mentally scolded myself for trying to get on par with her when I know perfectly well that I'm the one who has the disadvantage here. We followed her a few more meters through the corridors and then she went through a door. When I entered behind her I could see a metal chair, medical equipment and a lot of cables crossing everywhere.
They dragged me to a metal table and threw me on it. Automatically a mechanism was activated and the chair caught my wrists and ankles, preventing me from moving.
Unknown people, who seemed to be scientists, began to hover around me as the armed men moved away. One of the scientists placed a lighted headband on my head that connected with multiple wires to a machine in the ceiling.
—¡Auch!- A quick and sharp jab on my arm distracted me from the scientist.
The teenager I had brought here inserted a thick needle into my forearm without any subtlety.
The smile on her face and amusement in her eyes told me that she enjoyed seeing my pain reaction.
—I'm sorry, we need some of your blood for the evaluation.—She walked away as the scientists continued to place wires on the rest of my body and a few seconds later she was close to my head. —Don't worry, this won't hurt... at first.
After whispering in my ear I felt another jab, this time in my neck. When I turned to look at her she pulled the needle of an empty syringe out of my neck.
«¡She just injected me with something!»
Panic filled me when I discovered that there was an unknown liquid running through my body.
A darkness began to spread from outside to the center of my field of vision and sounds began to sound muffled.
—Sweet dreams.
Her annoying laughter was the last thing I heard before I fainted once again.
I don't know if it was part of a dream or if the voices came from reality, but I could hear confused conversations in the middle of the darkness.
—¡¿What, are you sure the results are okay?!
—I-I don't know, we already did the test twice and it keeps saying the same thing.
–This doesn't make sense. Something has to be wrong.
—We have to inform the boss, this could be...
The voices were getting further away and when they were heard clearly again, they were from different people.
—¿Is it her?
–Yes, they say she has a soul running through her veins.
–¡¿A soul?! But...how?
–¿Could it be...a natural awakening?
—Don't talk nonsense, that's not possible.
—Then, how...?
—Don't be impatient guys, sooner or later we'll find out. If the girl doesn't tell us, we'll find out ourselves.
—Yeei! A new partner, this will be fun.
—Just don't get too excited, remember what happened last time.
They kept talking but their voices started to sound muffled and I couldn't understand anything else, soon it turned into a slight murmur until finally everything was completely silent.
The more time I spent here and the more I listened, my uncertainty grew more and more. And I have a slight feeling that all of this is just the beginning of something bigger.

–Subject 735, tenth day of study. Initial studies show that the subject is the possessor of a soul, however, our technology has not been able to detect the class of the original owner of the soul and the subject claims to know nothing about it. We have injected the subject with prototypes A to Z of class D, E and F creatures, so we assume that the original carrier belonged to a higher level. We will proceed to begin with the injection of prototype A of class C.
When the scientist stopped talking to the recorder, he looked at the nurse at my side and with a nod asked her to continue. She complied with his orders and injected a bright pink substance into my neck.
Tears came out of my eyes like a waterfall knowing what was coming, I wanted to ask her not to do it, but like the previous times, my mouth was covered with a gag.
Suddenly, I felt a terrible pain run through my body causing multiple spasms and even causing my back to hunch.
I wanted to get up and run, but the shackles prevented me from getting up more than an inch from the surgical table. All I can do is endure the pain once again.
I've lost count of how many of those injections they've given me, I only know that every time they change what they call "class" the pain becomes stronger and more unbearable. From what I've understood, these are classified from A to F and so far I've passed three of them, however, I don't want to know how the higher classes will feel.
–The first prototype of class C has been injected, both souls fight inside the host's body.
At that moment I felt a great gag and the nurse, noticing it, brought a bucket to my face and lowered the gag. Unable to hold it in any longer, I ended up vomiting a liquid of various colors (among them bright pink) and with a disgusting taste.
—The result is... negative.— The scientist stated in the recording.
And this is how each of the injections ended, in a bucket. Apparently the "soul" in my body rejects the souls that they have tried to inject me and forces me to expel it through vomiting.
I wanted to ask Mina what a soul is since these people refuse to talk and have not explained much to me, but I have been too busy with these experiments that I have barely had time to go to my room.
–How are the vital signs?-- Asked the man with the recorder.
–Stable sir.—Answered one of the people behind some computers that surely have my information in real time.
-Any anomalies?
-Slight alteration during assimilation, other than that the subject does not seem to present any anomalies.
-The subject rejected the class C soul but is stable and does not present any type of anomaly in his body.—He spoke to the recorder again.—Subject 735 will be able to continue with the investigation without any problem.
—L-Let me go— I stammered with barely a thread of voice.
The man looked at me and then went back to his notes and wrote down more data. The nurse acted quickly and placed the gag back in my mouth.
–Prepare prototype B—The man ordered, casually adjusting his glasses.
—Yes sir.
I cried silently knowing that this was the only thing I could do. No matter how much I tried to scream at them and beg them to stop the pain, they would never listen to me, now I can only resign myself to what is coming.
The door of the laboratory was opened revealing a woman whose clothing reminds me of a gypsy.
—Miss Amayda, what brings you here?
–I came to see how the new candidate was doing, I see she is still alive.
—That's right, Miss, she responded well to the experiment.
—Do you know what class her soul is?
—A-Not yet, but we assume it is a class above C.
–¿Really? Wow.—The woman approached me and looked at me carefully.—You don't seem to be very special on the outside, but inside you have something very interesting.
She took off my gag and looked at me with curious eyes.
—Tell me, dear, what is your name?
I stayed quiet for a few seconds, refusing to answer her, but in the end I realized that this would get me nowhere and that it could even complicate things for me. The best thing would be to keep things calm and not make enemies with them.
–A-Aisha.
—Aisha... an unusual name. As you may have heard, my name is Amayda, nice to meet you Aisha.
