[Quest Complete: You have defeated the Goblin King]
"Now. Any last words?", he asked unsheathing his sword to deal the final blow.
[Notice: Do not kill the Goblin King]
(Then what was the point of defeating him?)
[Notice: Goblins may be hostile and steal from humans but they have a reason. Goblins do not possess skills like cooking, fishing or farming. So, they steal in order to survive. They aren't evil. They just need help]
(Oh... So, they aren't evil... weird.)
[Notice: Distributing items for this quest.]
A sack of seeds appeared in Kyros' inventory.
[Side Quest: Teach the goblins how to farm crops.]
(Hell no!)
[Side quest: You will be rewarded with a high-grade item.]
(Oh, I meant... Sure of course.)
Kyros got down from the Goblin King's stomach. Seraphina was still shocked.
"Are you okay? How did you survive that?", she asked, worriedly.
"Plot armor.", he bluntly replied.
"Plot...armor? Is it some kind of legendary armor?", she asked, interested.
"Something like that.", he said
"Also...were you talking to yourself just now?", she asked, wondering if the hit he took from the goblin king made him crazy.
Kyros: Its...uh, the voices in my head.
[Notice: Hehe]
"You need to see a doctor.", she advised him, concerned.
"Yeah, you might be right.", he replied, knowing that the 'voices' in his head would never stop.
[Notice: Teach the goblins how to farm crops.]
The goblin king shrunk in size, revealing himself to be more humanoid, with green skin and long black hair, still retaining his tusk-like canines. He looked more like body builder unlike his earlier form. The other goblins in the area also transformed to be more human. They looked like regular villages. As Kyros looked around he saw mothers, fathers and children.
"Woah, they're... not monster-looking.", Seraphina said, puzzled.
The goblin king approached them. "Thank you for sparing my life, human. It is not everyday where we see a human with compassion such as yours.", he thanked, in a low yet grateful tone.
"Nothing much really... I know about your food shortage situation. That's why you raid nearby villages, correct?", Kyros asked, trying to not sound like he knows everything due to his system giving him knowledge.
(That was oddly specific.)
The goblin king nodded. "Indeed. It has been hard to find food lately and we are unable to plant crops for ourselves; we would ask the humans for help but... we are unapproachable and if they found out about our original forms, we fear they might deem us a threat and do more damage than we can handle.", he replied in a now, concerned tone.
"Well you're in luck.", Kyros said in a tone that seemed uninterested. He pulled out the large sack of seeds from his inventory, nearly dropping. "We're going to help you."
A few hour later, Kyros was successful enough to teach the goblins how to farm crops. With Seraphina's experience as a blacksmith, she taught the goblins how to make proper farming tools. They stood now looking at the large farmland that spanned over the entire village.
"Thank you, humans, you have saved the lives of my people and I. Please, whenever you need help, please ask us.", the goblin king said, stretching out his hand.
"Oh... uhh you're welcome.", he said, shaking the goblin king's hand with a firm grip.
[Side Quest Complete: You have been rewarded 500 platinum coins and 500 silver coins. A high-grade item has been added to your inventory.
[Achievement Unlocked: An Unexpected Alliance: Gain an alliance with a common enemy.]
Later after the quest. The duo returned to town.
"I'm so tired.", Kyros mumbled, walking like an old man who no longer had a will to live.
"It was fun though. Who knew goblins just needed to learn how to provide for themselves? You're a very thoughtful person, Kyros.", Seraphina complimented.
"Thanks...", he smiled.
[Notice: Stop stealing my credit]
(Hehehe!)
As they approached Seraphina's home, they heard commotion from inside.
"They're here again...", Seraphina said with a low, saddened tone.
Kyros feeling concerned, asked. "Who's here again?"
"The tax collectors. My family is in debt and... we're having a hard time paying."
[Notice: Special Side Quest: An Annoying Pest.
Chase away the tax collectors from the blacksmiths.
Reward: Chapter of any manga of your choice.]
They both reach the entrance.
"It has been 3 months since your last payment!", said the first tax collector.
"I know...but business isn't doing well lately.", Seraphina's father replied.
Eyeing the blacksmith's wife; the second tax collector grinned. "Well you could pay with...other services"
"How dare you!?", said Seraphina's mother.
"Well, that's just nasty.", Kyros said, approaching the tax collectors
"And who are you?", asked the first tax collector.
"The hero that will save the world. Kyros Brightblade.", he said.
The tax collectors laughed.
"Is that so? Well, 'hero', if you excuse us. We're discussing something.", said the second.
"Discussing your perverted thoughts to a married woman?", he asked. His tone sharp.
"Kyros, stop. They're-"
"I am one who works directly under the king of this land, and you dare insult me!? Your mother must have been a foolish woman seeing as to how you have no manners.", said the second, interrupting Seraphina and insulting Kyros' mother.
Jonathan Forgeheart. Due to your unwillingness to pay your debt. I hereby-
"Hold it right there! No one move.", said Kyros.
Kyros' aura was heavy and the entire room could feel it.
"To be a pervert is one thing. But to insult one's mother? No one deserves to live for such an unforgivable act.", he said, moving closer.
"What are you going to do about it? I work directly under the ki-"
Before the tax collector to utter another word, Kyros punched him, sending him flying across the room.
"Foolish peasant. How dare you-"
Kyros interrupted the first with a kick in his family jewels, knocking him down to his knees.
"H-how dare you? I w-work under the king. I am going to sue you.", said the second
"I wouldn't care if you worked under the goddess or the dark lord. Besides, you can't sue me if you're buried alive.", Kyros threatened.
The tax collectors ran away from the shop, crying; leaving Seraphina and her family were shocked.
"K-Kyros. How...why did you do that?", asked Seraphina.
"He insulted my mother.", Kyros replied.
(I was also doing it for the reward.)
"Thank you very much, Kyros.", thanked the blacksmith.
"The tax collectors won't be back for another 3 months thanks to you.", Seraphina's mother said, gratefully.
Seraphina accompanied Kyros to the adventurer's guild. Before she left, she asked Kyros.
"You barely know us. But you still helped us. Why did you do that?", she asked him.
"Well, you know what they say. In order to receive good things. One must be a good person.", he answered.
[Notice:He is talking about the reward from the special side quest]
(Why are you telling them?)
"Also, this is for you. For helping me in the goblin cave.", he said.
He gives her a pouch coins.
"T-Thank you. With this we'll be able to pay off all our debts and improve our workshop.", she said, before hugging him and leaving.
She left as she waved at Kyros, thanking him once again.
(Really? A bag of 500 silver coins was all it needed to pay off the debt?)
Kyros looked inside the other pouch to see that he accidentally gave Seraphina a pouch of platinum coins instead of silver coins.
(I messed up...)
[Notice: Hehehehe]
(Wait a minute...THIS IS YOUR DOING ISN'T IT!?)
[Notice: I have no idea what you're talking about.]
(YOU'RE THE DAMN AUTHOR!), He argued, trying to attack the system window
[Notice: Teehee]
(WHAT DO YOU MEAN TEEHEE!?)
"Why is that guy angry?", asked a stranger.
"I don't know but I once saw him talking to himself.", said the stranger from before who appeared in the first chapter.
Kyros glared at the strangers, and they ran away, thinking he wanted to beat them up.
And thus, the story of our hero comes to an end for today.
(DON'T YOU DARE END THE CHAPTER UNTIL YOU GIVE ME BACK MY PLATINUM COINS!)
The sun sets as the day comes to an end. The hero will face more quests on his journey.
(I SAID STOP! YOU'RE NOT GONNA END THIS PART JUST YET!)
May our hero meet more companions that will help him get stronger so that one day. He may be able to defeat the dark lord and save this world along with its journey. To become a hero that will be remembered throughout all eternity.
(AELIUS ,STOP!)
But until then. Our hero must rest.
(AELIUS!!!)
End of Chapter 3.
(Note to self- Never trust an author.)
