Chapter 14.

A hypothesis.

A couple of minutes later Patrick was entering the living room where the children were with the couple and greeting them fraternally on the shoulder and completely ignoring his sister he said to her: if I don't send you here it seems like you forgot about me, I don't know whether to feel jealous or greedy that you forget me easily after so much we've been through.

Ritchthofen played along and said: don't tell me that, now one of the side effects you have is that you've noticed my attractiveness and want to seduce me...

Patrick jokingly said to him: not in your wildest dreams would I do that, but ¿wasn't Brianna in this place?, The man told him that there was no one here when they entered...

Then making the seal Patrick said to him: I would swear that I had left her here, but ¿why are there three children if there are four?, Then Ritchthofen said to him: she is probably with Brianna, it being more logical what you are saying that she was here.

So, they both went out together to look for Brianna and found her asleep next to Zyrian on a piece of furniture and Ritchthofen telling Patrick: I told you they were together, they are like soul mates…

And avoiding the sarcastic comment that Ritchthofen had made, Patrick moved them both to meet a cold look from Brianna who said to him:  ¿Didn't they teach you anything about not disturbing someone when they are sleeping or do you want to die?

Patrick told her: we are all together now and we can go eat on the terrace.

During dinner, the children enjoyed some totally juicy steaks of tender and sweet meat from some baby that had disappeared in the hospital, while the adults enjoyed the consumption of the blood that had been drained from that little body as if it were a wine aged for more than 30 years…

The conversations were totally trivial, the children were immersed in their playful conversations while the adults talked about any topic that came up regarding the daily routine and how these days could have been, comparing them since the last time they had met…

It was more than evident that it had been a while since everyone had sat at the same table without having to kill each other.

 Then Brianna looked at Anne and without further ado asked her: ¿was there any change before Ritchthofen had the DNA?, I don't hate you when it comes to having sex...

The woman's eyes opened wide while the men looked at each other stupefied by how direct she had been, while Anne feeling self-conscious and shy having so many eyes on her said: I don't know, I'm not a man to have the answers, but you are a woman and it is more than obvious that you have had sex from a very early age...

Ritchthofen stopped completely from drinking his nutritious drink and said: and what the hell do you care about our sex life, because I am more than sure that you also have a very active sex life, that is why I ask, to know if it will have any impact on my husband over time; We are family, so there shouldn't be any kind of taboo when asking this question…

I don't understand why she is shy, it's not like she is a virgin from some temple who doesn't know anything about the subject…

 Patrick just observed the situation in silence while Ritchthofen answered him: then the question is directed to me, not to her, and to clarify your doubts, there was never any kind of change, everything was spontaneous and consensual, so he said: and the flows of both ¿did not mix at some point before you had this DNA?, to which he answered:

The genetic load of an altered DNA is so strong that it simply will not be at the level of a normal DNA, so it is more than obvious that with my previous DNA it was more than impossible for me to get her pregnant or take her to a private institution to fertilize her eggs, because natural human DNA is not fast and strong enough to fuse with an altered DNA, ¿do you understand now?

Then she said: ¿Are you trying to tell me that if I want to have more children I have to make my husband have the same DNA as me so that his genetic makeup can be more than enough for me?

To which Richthofen replied: basically that is the easiest area, the other would be for you to try it with someone who has the same DNA… she simply looked at the two men in front of her and said: it is impossible that I would ever have to sleep with either of you two, just thinking about it makes me want to kill you already…

With that in mind, she was analyzing the situation and asking herself thousands of questions internally; if a natural human DNA is not enough to fuse with an animal or chemically altered DNA, ¿does that mean that we are the only beings on the planet that have this complexion?

Therefore, if this were to leak somewhere else, we would be the guinea pigs of many governments… we better handle ourselves carefully in this situation, but she was saying all that in her mind, no one at the table had heard it because she was simply talking to herself, while the others finished gossiping about some abstract topics…

Then Patrick looked up and met his sister's eyes, who was looking at him intensely; he stood up and said to the others: I think it's time for the children to go to sleep… you can continue, I'll be back in a while.

So the children said goodbye to the adults and followed their father in silence until they reached their rooms, where they could barely reach the bed because of the amount of gas in that room and which allowed them to sleep practically as soon as they crossed the threshold.
