Chapter 12.
8 pm.
Time had run out, it was 8pm… Henry remained in the same clothes, he simply took off his beach hat and put the entry card and his ID in one of his pockets, and before closing the door he looked his friend in the eyes and wished her good luck.
She saw him leave and close the door and the only thing she could do was go into the bathroom, take a shower and wait in silence crouched between the bed and the suitcase that was open.
It was a horrible feeling, but there was no other way, she knew that if she lay down openly on the bed she would not have time to pretend and hide when they opened the door, so much so that in the end she fell asleep in her desperation…
While Henry toasted and celebrated freely with the other passengers mingling with all kinds of people, without imagining that all this he was doing was observed by Cora Park herself, who knew of Thais' friendship with him and knew that she had not been seen again after she went to visit him.
Her men had entered his house and had found absolutely no trace of her, she had already heard the rumor from the employees that there was a suitcase that was broken, so the girl was making her move on the board trying to go unnoticed before their eyes.
Therefore, she told one of her men to check the deck and the other, to take charge of getting the man who was dancing in the middle of the dance floor drunk until he lost consciousness, the one with the colorful pants, whom they had been watching for a while…
Obeying her orders, each of them went their own way, and she simply stood up, lit a cigarette and let the smoke go out creating small circles in the air…
When they informed her that the deck was clean and the girl was not there, Cora simply said that there was no need for them to keep looking for her, because she knew where she was, but that they should keep an eye on the guest they had at the party.
The men immediately returned to the place, but their boss was no longer there, however, they continued to send glasses and glasses of drinks to Henry, who not only drank them, but also sat down to eat crab soup and asked the employees who brought him these glasses to dance.
He was giving it his all on the dance floor and shyness had left his body, he only shone with the liveliness of his skillful dance steps that made their way through the crowd of guests who applauded and praised his dance knowledge, as he encouraged everyone to follow him and celebrate with him around a warm and lively atmosphere where even the captain congratulated him for his fun way of setting the mood; he was simply the soul of the party, the heart of the dance floor and who stole the glances for his distinguished and extravagant steps.
