Chapter 9.
The big day.
The two days had ended, Henry had put some shorts, shirts and some bathing suits on Thais's shrunken body, the rest he had put in a small handbag and had left a very small part of the zipper open, so while they took a taxi straight to the port where the cruise would take off.
Henry was nervous, he was wearing beach clothes with a hat that said "I'm going on vacation", I don't want to be bothered, but really the rest of the people who were going to the cruise wore that kind of relaxed and calm outfits.
The problem came when Henry started to roll the suitcase towards the entrance where one of the captains was checking the tickets and he could see that some employees there were taking the suitcases to another area perhaps to check them.
The hollow that the man felt in his stomach made his legs tremble, but he still continued forward…
Thais had survived the crude way in which the driver had thrown her into the trunk and the blows she felt when they took her out, so she was dizzy inside that small suitcase, but she couldn't make any noise, so while they were checking Henry's ticket, one of the employees asked him to take the suitcase and he told her that they had already checked it, but just at that moment before the employee could intervene, a guest on the cruise arrived and made them approve Henry's entry without the check and he could sneak down the ramp to his cabin.
That guest was Cora Park…¿what the hell was that woman doing here?, was what he asked himself… and following the directions, he managed to get to his cabin, one completely for him in section B on the second floor, the cabin was B 530, so after opening the door, he entered and closed it again sliding to the floor and opening the pocket of the suitcase completely on the side where she had to breathe indicating to him.
The plans have gone down the drain, to which she barely stretched out one of her hands and asked him why and he told her: Cora Park is the special guest of the cruise, which means that if before you could have even a tiny chance of getting out of here and going unnoticed, now that chance is null, I am even afraid to go out.
That woman is surrounded by her thugs out there and if they find out that you are here too and that you are with me, oh honey, I am just going to end up being a human smoothie that they will serve as a garnish for some exotic sauce that they serve on this cruise as a dish.
So she said to him: get me out of here, let me stretch for a moment, so without hesitation he opened the suitcase completely and helped her out, she wobbled a little and then stabilized, but she was still a little dizzy, so they went to sit on the bed when she heard the door knock asking if there was anyone there.
They were both shocked and he immediately told her to get under the bed and just as she was finishing entering one of the employees opened the door and he pretended to be hanging up a call and asked her if everything was okay.
To which she replied: it’s that because of the hustle and bustle a while ago your suitcase couldn’t be inspected and I came to get it to take it to have the approved label put on it, and he told her: oh sure, take it I had just opened it to take out some flip flops to be more comfortable; and she told him: don’t worry, after closing the suitcase she took it and he sighed with relief saying what the hell have I gotten myself into while his body fell lying down on the mattress…
